Taylor and David’s story feels a lot like a fairytale, and probably because to them, it truly is. While this one doesn’t include carriages made of pumpkins or seven little dwarfs, it’s a story for the times straight out of Pittsburg, KS.
On June 26, 2020, Taylor was at Mud Run, a big party and bonfire outside of Girard, when she and David first crossed paths. After an evening of mudding, the pair hung out everyday in the days to come, and it became obvious that the two would soon become inseparable. This fairytale wasn’t exactly love at first sight, though. Taylor was enjoying being single and celebrating her final summer before college, and both were a bit hesitant about their three-year age gap and losing the other as a best friend. The duo was convinced they were “just friends,” but as the saying goes, love would conquer all. Frequent nights at Applebee’s and the pair being attached at the hip soon would turn into David and Larry playing games of pool to win sleepovers at the house. Whether or not the games truly had to be won might be a secret kept forever, because in truth, Larry loved David from the moment they had met.
On August 22, 2020, Pittsburg held the inaugural Drag the Gut event, a night where once a month, people would bring out their cars and cruise down Broadway Street, to try and have a sense of normalcy during COVID. David had brought his truck out and Taylor was helping put flags up on the truck when David said he wanted to talk to her. To say that Taylor had no idea what was coming next would be an understatement, because she thought she had done something wrong! Instead, David officially asked her out, and it has been nothing short of spectacular ever since.
While years have passed with tremendous highs and lows, Taylor and David have been able to rely on each other and their relationship’s strength to guide them through, a true testament that love triumphs. On March 8, 2024, David proposed to Taylor at her favorite place, The Fort Worth Stockyards, during the American Rodeo after a lovely week spent with friends.
You might be wondering, what happens next in this story? The bride and groom look forward to celebrating their union with their closest family and friends and continuing to grow together.
