Our Story

(Taylors Version)

It was 2014 in Greenville, SC... back when we were in our twenties and going out Thursday to Sunday was still acceptable. Greenville was still a "small" town so when you went out you always ran into the same groups of people. Rey's, On the Roxx, and Fords were the best bars to go to. I had known Sean through our friend Corey, and had seen him out a couple times, chatted, and had even been to Wedgewood for some group beers, but the timing was never right.

Fast forward to Halloween 2014, I was at Ford's with friends dressed as George Washington. Hot, I know. I walked up to the bar and looked to my right and see Sean sporting a long blonde wig and tight zebra pants...he was an 80's rocker. I figured now was as good a time as any to ask if he wanted to take a shot of Fireball with me. We clinked plastic cups, said Happy Halloween and then proceeded to have our first kiss on the dance floor.

We "dated" for several months before Sean finally asked me to be his girlfriend. But I knew he was the one when he drove me out of his way to Greensboro to see my mom for the weekend on his way to JMU. He said it was on the way but I knew he was just doing it because he REALLY liked me.

Nine years later we take a shot of Fireball every Halloween and will forever!

Sean's Side (Unabridged)

In the year TA 3018, the quest to destroy the One Ring began. Though that quest had the final aim to destroy a ring, whereas ours was to get married, the journey took roughly the same amount of time.

My mid twenties had me convinced that I had it all; established in Greenville with a house and good job, the weekend (and some weekday) nights were spent out on the town. Immediately struck by how fun and pretty Taylor was, I wanted our relationship to be more than a brief "hello" when our paths crossed but alas, it was not yet meant to be.

Time passed, myth passed into legend, and the quest was all but forgotten.

Until one Halloween night when I dazzled all with my 80s rocker costume complete with tight zebra leggings and a blonde wig. Confidence, fueled by my attire and the spirit (and spirits) of the night, I would finally get Taylor's number.

Over the years our love has grown as we've built a life and a family together. Our favorite vacation spot in the mountains, dozens of home improvement projects, countless concerts, and the less-notable Sunday movie-marathons on the couch all led to the penultimate climax of our engagement.

Our wedding marks the end of one journey - Taylor has the One Ring - but the start of our lives as husband and wife!
