Joe and Taylor’s Story

Everyone in East Longmeadow, MA knows each other. It’s the kind of small town that has probably inspired many holiday greeting cards. So, this story is basically a hallmark movie but like a really really good one. Taylor and Joe technically met in High School, so I like to tease them that they’re actually high school sweethearts. Fast forward a few years they reconnected while both working in Springfield. Ask them to tell you about the time Joe handcuffed Taylor at a bar. Back to the story, sparks flew immediately and the two became basically inseparable. As one of Taylor’s rightfully skeptical best friends it was easy to see the love shared between these two. Their story isn’t without challenges though. Due to Joe being away for work after landing his dream job, and Taylor remaining in Western MA the two practiced their rock star communication skills and further cemented the strong foundation for their relationship. I’m pretty sure there is a saying about absence and the heart.

Moving to Iowa in 2021 was a big change for both of them. One of the biggest challenges was Joe learning to accept Duke as his son, jury is still out, but I’m pretty sure he loves that dog. They quickly made friends, Joe found hunting spots, Taylor found the rodeos, they learned the best restaurants, and added 2 more furry friends to their family: Comet and Cisco.

Joe proposed in December of 2022 while home visiting family. And it was beautiful! A particular highlight of this adventure included: driving to several different Christmas tree farms because most of them were closed all while Taylor was hangry. Joe proposed at the final tree farm with a photographer standing by to capture the beautiful moment. The pair celebrated with all their family and closest friends and absolutely got to eat.
