It all (finally) began with a lost jacket
on a broken car seat and a phone call.
Our story began on my birthday in 2015 when Taylor needed a ride from the bar to her car. We had been hanging out with friends and for the first time, really getting to know each other outside of a professional setting and ended up hitting it off.
There had been a recall on my passenger side car seat so Taylor had to ride on the floor, but for some reason, it was so romantic she left behind her jacket like Cinderella and the glass slipper. Only I knew exactly who's jacket it was and suspected she did it on purpose. To this day, she still denies it.
We had about a month before she would make the move to Oklahoma. We saw each other nearly every weekend and often even more than that. A year later, when her apartment lease was up, I made my move and presented her with an excel spreadsheet outlining the financial benefits of her moving back to Dallas and in with me. I had already made space for her in my closet, and cleared out more than half of my dresser to deny her any chance of saying no. Lucky for me, my efforts worked like a charm, and she said yes! Who knew that what started with a broken seat and and desperate excel spreadsheet would be the beginning of our happily ever always. We are both thankful that the rest of our road has been a whirlwind of laughs, wine, and traveling.
From Louie to Tannin, to Murphy, Remy, Buddy, Jackson, and Blanca, to Lucy, Izzy and Ike, to Wrigley, Harper and Brooks, we've been fortunate to have a lot of love from our 4-legged friends.
We've been in Oklahoma, Plano, McKinney, New York City, Hoboken... and back to Dallas. With dogs in hotels, dogs in cars, and even dogs on planes, we've made the best of small spaces and large. No matter what, we've always been a team throughout the journey.
We've been to France and Fredericksburg, Portland Maine & Oregan, everywhere along the east coast and even to Disney World. We've sipped whiskey with friends in Tennessee and had a pint or three in Dublin. And I'm not certain anyone remembers what we did in Thailand...
After coming back from NYC to Dallas, we felt like we'd started the perfect life together. We kept planning for so much more. I had searched for the right ring in New York but never found it. But within a month of coming back to Texas, all the stars finally aligned.
We are thrilled to share this day with you and create more stories in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your lives and stories with us.
