It’s not exactly your classic boy-meets-girl love story, mainly because neither one of them is a girl.Taylor and Dallas met in the most 2020s way possible: Instagram stories. There’s still some friendly debate about who reached out first, but most bets are on Dallas replying to one of Taylor’s more eye-catching posts. From there, things flowed easily: messages turned into texts, texts turned into the occasional phone call (which was a big deal, considering Taylor’s deep, almost spiritual aversion to talking on the phone).For about a year, their connection quietly grew from a distance—until one Memorial Day weekend, Taylor surprised everyone by calling Dallas (yes,&nbsp;calling) and casually asking what he was up to. A few hours later, he was on his way to Kansas City. The following weekend, he brought along the two most beautiful, sassy girls—and they just kept coming back. Nearly every weekend for the rest of the year, the crew was together, navigating air mattresses, snack negotiations, and the kind of moments that slowly turn into a life. Their favorite road trip soon became their favorite home.Fast forward to summer 2024 in Colorado—Keystone, Dillon, Breckenridge. Taylor had won a free stay at breeze REAL ESTATE’s annual corn hole tournament (yes, really), and Dallas had been quietly plotting the perfect proposal. He packed a Tiffany box (fun fact: you&nbsp;can&nbsp;buy those on Amazon) and waited for just the right moment.The plan? A scenic hike Taylor found online, described as a “cute little trail with a pretty lake at the end.”Spoiler alert: it was not cute. It was a full-on mountain mission.The drive to the trailhead alone nearly shook the car apart. The hike started off easy enough, but quickly turned into a rocky, uphill climb that left the girls questioning every life decision that had brought them to this moment. At one point, one of them sat down on the trail and declared they were done—officially bear food. But Taylor was determined to find&nbsp;his&nbsp;lake, even if it meant dragging the whole crew up the mountain himself.Eventually, they landed at a quiet pond with a jaw-dropping view of the valley below. Spirits were low, snacks were dwindling, and everyone was mildly feral—but Dallas saw his chance. He pulled out the little blue box from the bottom of the backpack he’d carried all the way up the mountain (stuffed with fruit tape and decoy snacks). He handed the phone to Emmersyn (who immediately demanded to know what was happening) and dropped to one knee on what might’ve been the most uneven patch of ground in Colorado.Cue Aubree bursting into full-on tears. (Happy ones, we promise.)Once everyone had a minute to recover emotionally, Dallas told Taylor that while the lake might not have been perfect,&nbsp;they&nbsp;were. And just like that, it was official.They still had to make the long, bumpy drive back into town—but with a little more pep in their step and a brand-new story to tell.
