Our love story began back in 2010 when a little sassy blonde girl made her way to the plains of Lubbock, Texas for a weekend visit with our mutual friend, Vandy, who introduced us. When we first met it wasn’t all flirtatious banter. We had known each other for quite some time before we actually went out on our first date in 2012.
While we were home on Christmas break from Texas Tech, we had our first date at a little Mexican restaurant. After talking over margaritas and fajitas (one of Tae’s favorite meals) we soon discovered our mutual interest in travel, good food and bad reality television. I fell in love with her beauty, thoughtfulness, sense of humor and how she always had a positive out look on whatever came her way.
On New Years Eve at the ever-so-romantic rooftop bar of what used to be called The Den in Uptown, I officially asked Taylor to be my girlfriend. Almost 9 years of memories, 2 spoiled fur babies, purchasing our first home, tons of traveling, and countless margaritas later…I decided it was time to take our relationship to the next step.
December 22, 2020 I asked Taylor for her hand in marriage in the backyard of our home. Lucky for me she said “yes”! We followed the engagement the only way we know how, a celebration with friends, family and A LOT of mambo taxis.
We are looking forward to starting this new chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people!
