Brett remembers the first time he ever saw Taylor. She was visiting Woodside Bible Fellowship in the summer of 2018 and to put it gently, he … was … smitten. Taylor first began noticing Brett after she had been attending Woodside full time a couple years later. Neither of them knew about the other’s interest and their paths didn’t seem to cross much as Brett was busy with hockey and Taylor was visiting Czech for extended periods of time each year. Little did they know, their sisters (who happened to be close friends) relayed the other’s attraction to them like a big game of telephone. After getting to know each other a little bit through their young adult group, Taylor and Brett decided to go for a walk through the lights at Waterloo park. During the many walks and skates that followed (it was Covid, there were a lot of outdoor activities) they got to know each other better and discovered that they absolutely loved spending time together. They found that their interests, values, and purpose in life aligned and that they both shared the rock on which they were building their lives: Jesus. And the rest, as they say, is history.
