Like most love stories in the modern world, this one began with a young (but WAY older) man sliding into the DMs of a damsel in distress. (our first photo together, unfortunately)

And like most love stories, Taylor and David's first time alone together took place at a public memorial for a basketball legend.

Already off to a romantic beginning, it was no surprise that David met Taylor's parents within the first month of getting to know each other. (Taylor had to go to urgent care, and David had to drop her car off at her parent's home. This wasn't intimidating at all.)

After frozen pizza and wine on Valentine's Day, and unmatched conversation that led both to believe that this bond might be a rarity, David and Taylor attempted going out in public together again, despite previous endeavors ending at a memorial and urgent care. This was the first of many concerts together.

This milestone was no April Fool's. Admitting you know each other on social media is a momentous step for every blossoming couple.

"Mom, you have to meet this girl." We're at the beginning of the pandemic. We're all afraid to touch ANYTHING, let alone see anyone. Nothing but fear was being broadcast from every news outlet. Bad timing to start falling for someone. With David's mom stuck for a couple months in California, "game nights" began, along with a great relationship between Taylor and David's mother. Not ideal, but looking back, we are so grateful for this period in time.

It wasn't exactly easy going out on dates (correction) it was impossible. Not only were businesses forced to shut down in California, but so were hiking trails and beaches. Taylor and David spent "date nights" together exercising and cooking dinner at home.

... and playing games that helped them get to know each other better ...

... along with finding ways to get to know each other's friends. (First night meeting one of Taylor's best friends, Bryar. Idiots.)

David and Taylor share a drive to explore and experience as much as possible. It was this day where David conceded and realized that he doesn't only want, but must do everything it takes to be the man for her.

Wow, "safe at home" was boring.

David and Taylor's first real date was also their first trip together. Desperately wanting to take Taylor on a date, a drive to San Francisco to have wine while watching the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge seemed fitting. The fedora did as well at the time, but it wasn't.

Beautiful.

With everything still closed, David and Taylor were able to explore the city in private. They ran the Golden Gate Bridge, had crab chowder bowls (to go) on Fisherman's Wharf, and found a small Italian restaurant that was "illegally" serving drinks on their outdoor patio.

Taylor met DIL for the first time. They liked each other.

Florida trip

Our first trip to Florida, and, WOW!

We did not skinny-dip.

We took it slow and got a puppy together.

Oahu, Hawaii

David proposed after Taylor went on a girls' trip to Croatia. He knew for a very long time that this was his person. Now they are getting married in Hawaii, and they invited the most important people to them. They want them to have a vacation while watching them get married. It's been a weird and long past couple of years. The purpose of the wedding is for all of their loved ones to take time and relax, and enjoy each other.
