Matt met a girl that would not stop talking about a gas station competition in the state of Pennsylvania during her residency interview. He thought it was really weird that this girl was having a conversation with program leadership about "Sheetz versus Wawa".

Little did he know that same girl would end up sharing a desk with him during their first year of pharmacy residency. Not only did they share a desk, they ended up working the same weekend together as well. Much to each other's dismay- as Matt found Taylor to be a know-it-all, and Taylor found Matt to be standoffish.

Weekends as a resident are challenging. You have the most responsibility with the least amount of knowledge. Taylor worked Labor Day weekend as the clinical resident- which meant she had to do all of the clinical tasks throughout the hospital and work in the ICU. At the end of the day, Matt asked her if she needed help with anything and they both realized that an entire floor of clinical tasks was not completed and needed to be addressed.

Matt offered stay late to help complete the tasks- and him and Taylor stayed almost 2 hours to get them done. By the time it was over, they both left exhausted- ready to enjoy Labor Day off with a break from the residency chaos.

When they were both leaving work- they ended up pulling up at the same stoplight next to one another. Matt motioned to Taylor to roll down her window and said "Today sucked. Wanna get a beer?". Taylor laughed and agreed.

One drink turned into 6 hours of talking and getting to know one another. Those 6 hours turned into 4 years of being with one another. Ever since that day, Matt and Taylor have been inseparable. Now, the residents that found each other annoying are getting married- almost 5 years to the day they went for a drink after work.
