OUR STORY
We met on March 22nd, 2020 on Hinge, the dating app. The world was shutting down due to the global pandemic, but in Salt Lake City, Utah, Taylor and Dom had just matched with eachother. On that day, Taylor decided to message Dom, “hey”, they had a quick conversation before wanting to exchange numbers and the nonstop talking began (and it hasn’t stopped). With Taylor’s school going virtual, she was given the choice to go back to New York to quarantine with her family and continue classes for dental school online. Even though it was only just a few days talking to Dom, she felt something special and wanted to stay in Utah to continue talking to him. Now that Dom was working from home and Taylor was staying in Utah, daily conversations, phone calls, and FaceTimes started to become something very special and they both knew the next step would be meeting in person. Two weeks later, Taylor and Dom met in person. Although this happened just in the driveway outside of Dom’s house because everywhere was closed due to lockdown, it couldn’t have gone better and both wanted to see eachother again soon after. From there on, Taylor and Dom quarantined together. We made dinners, did puzzles, played games, but most importantly, spent time really getting to know eachother and ultimately falling in love! A few weeks later, Dom officially asked Taylor to be his girlfriend, of course she was crying and said yes. Navigating our relationship through and after Covid was not the easiest, especially with Taylor going back into school for the next three years and Dom going back to his normal football season schedule but we prioritized us and made it work, and work well! After two years of dating, Taylor packed up her 15 bags of clothes and shoes, moved out of her apartment and into Doms house with him and his dog, Arya! Living together was the best decision we made, getting to spend everyday together and continue growing closer. The next few years were spent, traveling together (of course back to New York), going through multiple football seasons together, dental school graduation, attending weddings together, and moving into a new home. Fast forward to March 22nd, 2025, exactly five years to the day after they had started talking. Dom had told Taylor they were having dinner with his family at their country club, but little did she know, Dom was going to propose and her family was actually secretly in Utah, which was the one thing she always said she hoped for, that her family would be there the day she got engaged. Something that Dom and Taylor have always done together was play card games, whether it’s on vacation, during a blackout or just during a cozy date night, so when Dom suggested they play a card game until his family arrived at dinner, Taylor thought nothing of it. In the background, as they were playing cards, songs that were special to Taylor and Dom were playing, which had Taylor thinking what a coincidence, but really it was a special playlist that Dom had put together. Taylor definetly knew none of this was a coincidence when Dom flipped over his last card and it said “Will You Marry Me?” written on it. Dom asked Taylor to marry him and it was the easiest yes of a lifetime. Both families were there to witness the moment we got engaged and to celebrate the engagement, we could not have been happier. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us!
