How We Met Taylor’s perspective Our story began on the dance floor of La Cage, a place neither of us expected to meet the person we’d spend forever with. Austin made eye contact first, and I started the conversation, not realizing at the time just how important that moment would become. From the start, he had a way of showing up and in all the right ways. We met in early July, and when my birthday rolled around, Austin took me back to where it all began. He made sure it was a night to remember, complete with a surprise birthday shoutout from the stage. That kind of thoughtfulness became a theme in our relationship—small moments that spoke volumes. The moment I truly knew Austin was the one was when life threw us an unexpected surprise. Through every challenge and change, he kept every promise he made—not just with words, but through action. His unwavering love, support, and commitment have only grown stronger with time. Fast forward to a trip to Florida. As we got ready for dinner, Austin insisted on a walk on the beach. I didn’t think much of it at first (and was mildly annoyed with the wind messing up my hair), but suddenly, everything clicked. He got down on one knee, and in a moment both beautifully planned and completely unexpected, he asked me to marry him. And here we are, ready to celebrate the next chapter with all of you!

Love at First Sight

How We Met Austin’s Perspective We were both out with friends at La Cage on a Saturday night when I first saw Taylor. She was dancing, completely in her element, and I noticed her right away. Before I had a chance to make a move, she came up to me, and we started talking over drinks. At first, she assumed I was gay—understandable, given the club we were in—but I quickly reassured her otherwise. I remember turning to my buddy and saying, “She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” That first conversation was all it took; from that night on, she was always on my mind. Early on, I took Taylor to dinner at my parents’ friends’ house to meet my family. Even in those first months, I took our relationship seriously, but I knew without a doubt that it was something special when we found out Ramona was on the way. That moment changed everything, and from then on, my focus was on building a life together. Fast forward to the proposal—I had been planning it for about eight months. I wanted it to be perfect, so I arranged for a photographer and videographer to secretly capture the moment. The tricky part was getting Taylor to go on a walk along the beach without her catching on. Bill and Sue had taken Ramona for ice cream, and I saw my chance, but after a long day, Taylor wasn’t exactly in the mood for a stroll. It took some serious convincing, but she finally agreed. The plan was simple: we’d walk to a certain spot, and I’d point at the ocean as a signal to the photographer. When we reached the spot, I pointed and said, “Look at that.” Instead of looking, Taylor took two steps back, eyed me suspiciously, and said, “What?” I tried again—“Just look.” The second she turned away, I dropped to one knee. When she turned back, I proposed, and just when she thought the surprises were over, I let her know it had all been captured on camera. Now, here we are, getting ready to celebrate the next chapter with all of you!
