If you are looking for a fun town to visit, head to Talkeetna for the day. Talkeetna is about an hour from Wasilla, AK. I highly recommend eating at the Talkeetna Spinach Bread truck, getting the sweet potato wedges at Denali brewpub, and having a blueberry mojito at Denali Brewing Company!
Moose's Tooth is the best place to get Pizza in Anchorage, AK. Our favorite is chicken bacon ranch, but you cant go wrong with any options. If you are looking for an amazing beer try the Apple Ale or the Raspberry Wheat.
About 2 hours from Anchorage you will find one of our favorite towns, Seward, AK. Seward has amazing mountain views and the best beaches for skipping rocks. In Seward I suggest walking in the harbor, visiting the Alaska SeaLife Center, having clam chowder at Ray's Waterfront, skipping rocks at Lands End, and shopping in the fun little stores. 10/10 recommend for a fun day trip!
If you are looking for an amazing tour, I highly recommend taking a tour of Kenai Fjords. There are many tours to choose from and they are all amazing. Tours leave out of Seward, AK, about 2 hours from Anchorage.
If you are looking to learn more about Alaska's amazing history, I highly suggest going to the Anchorage Museum.
45 minutes from Anchorage you will find a newer attraction in Girdwood, AK. Girdwood is home to the biggest ski resort in Alaska, Alyeska. Here you will find an amazing spa experience with amazing hydrotherapy pools.
If you are looking for some amazing Alaskan seafood, we highly recommend Simon and Seafort's in Anchorage!
If you are looking for something to do in Palmer on Friday night, the Palmer Alehouse always has a local band playing for free! They serve amazing food and drinks. You can bring lawn chairs or stand around the fire pit.
Great hikes around this area as well as paths to walk around!
An awesome museum dedicated to The Iditarod Race.
If you are looking for amazing views, fishing, and animal viewing we highly recommend traveling to Valdez. It is about a 5 hour drive from Palmer.
