We officially met in our high school’s athletic training room because we were both recovering from injuries. However, our paths had previously crossed a few times before. Every day after that he’d hold open the door to my class before going to his own class nearby. I thought he was cute and appreciated the gesture. But his sweet gesture was just the beginning, I soon discovered he was also mature and kind.

One day as he was removing his helmet while leaving the football field after a game, I noticed grass in his hair. So, I picked it out and kept walking. Evidently, my kind gesture and swift departure left him puzzled and most definitely intrigued.

We never officially went on dates during high school. But over time, our friendship grew stronger as we hung out around campus and occasionally chaperoned my little brother and his friend's Dave & Busters outings, never imagining such antics would be the perfect foundation for an unforgettable friend, turned relationship.

College took us in different directions, yet hundreds of miles apart we still we managed to maintain the genuine friendship we’d built as teens. Over the past 10 years, our friendship, love, and respect for each other have grown as we've made countless memories together.

My favorite memory was our May 2021 trip to Baker’s Cay Resort in Key Largo. We were awed by the beautiful beach and enjoyed the resort’s numerous amenities – from bike riding to reeling in a shark while fishing. We even fibbed and told the staff we were celebrating our anniversary. Ironically, our wedding will take place exactly four years to the day of that memorable Keys vacation.

Now, as we prepare for the big day, we can’t help but reflect on all the little moments that brought us here. It’s funny to reminisce about how simple door-holding and grassy-hair picking have led us down a path toward forever.

We feel so blessed that you will be present as we take our vows on May 10th. So, get ready for some fun! We can't wait to celebrate with all of you as we make more unforgettable memories!
