dating

In a day and age where social dating has become the norm, neither Jarret or Taylor thought they would find love through a dating app. However, both of them were looking for the real deal, and what started with a simple “heart” turned into so much more…

After chatting through Snapchat for about two weeks, Jarret finally asked Taylor on a date to meet. He offered to come from Mint Hill to Hickory for dinner on a Tuesday night. They both agreed pasta was their favorite food, and it was on from there (because come on, who doesn’t love noods)? Little did they know that their lives would forever change over a bowl of noodles.

Jarret went in quick with the deep questions. He asked Taylor, “So why is a beautiful girl like you single?” to which she replied, “Hahaha, well we might not make it to the dinner table if we discuss that now...” He wanted to know though, so she laid it all out there. What was there to lose? What’s the worst that could happen? If he didn’t accept her for who she was, then there wouldn’t be another date. Dinner went amazingly well, to the point that Taylor left feeling like she may have just found her person.

The next few months went by without a hitch. Every weekend was full of adventure, laughter and excitement. From riding side by sides in the 20 degree weather in West Virginia to beach trips to concerts, there was no doubt that the relationship between them felt different, but in the best way. Taylor felt confident she had found her husband by about four months in. Jarret felt the same about finding his wife at about six months.

If you’re looking for that special someone, they both suggest joining Facebook Dating. You never know what you’ll find!

engagement

July 1, 2023 started out like any other. As per their usual Saturday tradition, they woke up and Jarret got Chic-fil-A for breakfast. They had planned to go to Jarret’s cousin’s birthday party in Taylorsville, NC. His parents were also planning to drive up for the party from Mint Hill, NC. After the birthday party, there were a few hours to kill, so Taylor suggested going to get ice cream, and offered for them to come by to see her house. Taylor’s mom and stepdad were hosting a small party that night as well, so Taylor’s mom invited them to come join the party.

They got to the party that night and Dylan Fairchild had been hired to play music. After a few good drinks and some delicious food, the music turned slower. The song was “Girl Crush,” to which Taylor said “ugh I really don’t love this song” when Jarret asked her to dance. Jarret was extremely worried when she said that, and started to freak out because the plan wasn’t working as he thought it would, but she finally agreed. The next 10 minutes are a bit of a blur….

After one or two slow songs played, the music changed to Amazed by Lonestar. Taylor said, “Aww I love this song!” …without even realizing that Dylan wasn’t the one singing anymore. The first verse ended and Jarret spun Taylor around to him on one knee. *THE SHOCK, y’all* Taylor being the emotional person she is, started bawling and was in utter shock. Of course her answer was YES!
