If you are looking for a chill hike/adventure, check out Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver. You can park at the Lynn Valley parking lot or near End of the Line General Store (street parking available). If you are up for a medium level hike (2ish hours - 300m elevation), you can hike Lynn Valley Loop trail. This trail is dog friendly. If you bring your swimsuits, you can go for a dip in the 30 ft pool. This is also a great area to have a picnic. Caution - the water is freezing!
Grouse Mountain is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vancouver. Parking Lot D offers cheaper parking. You can purchase tickets and take the gondola up to the top of the mountain and then you can explore the various attractions at the top. If you are up for a major challenge, you can hike to the top. Warning - this is not an easy hike! It's 800m elevation and is straight up the entire way. If you are comfortable running 10km then you will feel relatively comfortable on this hike, but it still isn't easy so pack lots of water and take good hiking/running shoes. If you choose to hike up, you can purchase a gondola ticket to go back down the mountain. If you are feeling extra ambitious, you can hike down the BCMC trail (you cannot hike down the Grouse Grind trail).
One of my favourite things to do with visitors is to rent bikes or scooters on Denman street and take them to bike the Seawall and explore Stanley Park. Yes Cycle is just one of many places you can rent bikes or scooters from (there are tons on the lower end of Denman street - closer to the water). It's a relatively cheap activity and the rental companies are flexible with how long you can rent their bikes for.
R&B Ale & Pizza House is just one of countless breweries in Vancouver. BC is known for its amazing craft beer selection. R&B is right off of Main street and is one of several breweries in the neighbourhood. If you are in this area, you could also check out Main Street Brewery, Brassneck, 33 Acres, Electric Bicycle, Faculty Brewing and plenty more! If you are looking to go for a drive to see more of beautiful BC, you could drive to Squamish (approximately 90 minutes - 2 hours away) and check out Backcountry Brewery. The drive might be long but you will be treated to incredible views the entire way! The town of Squamish is adorable and the brewery is just one of its many features. If you are a hiker, you could also check out the Chief hike or the Sea-to-Sky summit hike (there is also a gondola you can take to the top if you don't feel like hiking).
Kitsilano (or Kits as the locals call it) is one of the most popular areas in Vancouver. The neighbourhood has lots of great shopping and restaurants (fourth avenue) and Cornwall street is where you will find the famous Kits Beach. There are lots of restaurants near Kits Beach where you can enjoy great food with a beautiful view (Local has an excellent patio, although there is often a wait in the summer). Going for a walk, playing beach volleyball, or relaxing at the beach are all great options here.
