Our Story

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

Taylor and Andrew met for the first time in the Spring of 2012, on a rainy afternoon, in a dim cafe between Spelman College and Morehouse College.

Andrew spotted Taylor as she entered the cafe, but there wasn't a clear path to conversation until 30 minutes later when he had to leave. With a sincere and memorable smile, which she returned, he left a note with his number, which she saved. That's how it began.

Over time, Taylor grew fond of his joie de vivre and taste in music, and Andrew delighted in her poetics and grace. They made adventure of their time in Atlanta, with sweet memories to sustain them as they graduated and returned to their coastal homes 2,000 miles apart. For four years their relationship flourished as they remained connected through Skype and FaceTime, calling and texting, and lively trips from coast to coast. They found Love, or maybe Love found them.

In 2018, Taylor and Andrew made the historic Roxbury neighborhood in Boston their shared home. Andrew was completing his final year at Boston University School of Theology, and Taylor taught 7th grade English Language Arts. Through triumphs and achievements, professional pursuits and a pandemic, Taylor and Andrew supported each other, offering friendship, encouragement, and accountability.

Ten years later, Taylor and Andrew remain dedicated to making adventure, love, and sweet memories everyday. Currently, Taylor curates arts and culture programs for educational institutions as the Director of Education for a national non-profit. She’s also completing her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Emerson College. Andrew works at the intersection of higher education, community organizing, and the arts in roles at Boston University School of Theology, Grant AME Church, and Cambridge Forum. The pair have and will continue to support each other in all their endeavors.

In September 2024, Taylor and Andrew tie the knot! They’ll make years of commitment and devotion official with a ceremony at the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, MD. They’re deeply grateful for a nurturing community and can’t wait to celebrate L O V E with close family and close friends.
