Way back in 2006, Kyle and Taylor first met during sixth grade band where they both chose to play the trumpet. They spent a lot of time together during classes and eventually developed crushes. Even though their first chance at "dating" didn't last, they formed a strong friendship that lasted all the way through middle school and into high school.

After being close friends for a few years, Kyle finally got his chance to ask Taylor to be more than friends. During the break in jazz band rehearsal on November 29, 2011, Taylor and Kyle officially started dating and never looked back!

Taylor and Kyle were inseparable through the rest of high school. After they both got their drivers' licenses, they had their first official date at The Ninety Nine. They played in band together, went to junior and senior prom, and graduated from Lunenburg High School.

Kyle studied engineering at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, and Taylor went to UMass Amherst to study mechanical engineering. They dated long-distance all through college, spending many weekends meeting at home or driving to each others' campuses to visit for the weekend.

After four long years of long distance at different colleges, Kyle and Taylor got their first apartment together in Lowell! They started their first full-time engineering jobs, commuting during the week and adventuring on the weekends. Taylor learned to ski over this winter!

After a year in Lowell, Kyle and Taylor moved to their own apartment in Nashua, NH. After a few months of living alone, they decided to adopt a cat. They came home with Oakley (previously known as Bravo) who is just about the best cat ever. Oakley gets to go for walks and gets to visit the Lourens' lake house on the weekends.

Taylor and Kyle bought their first home in June of 2021. After losing out on several houses during the crazy bidding wars in the housing market, they were about to give up. Out of the blue, their realtor called and told them that their previously-rejected offer was ready to be accepted on their favorite house! 7 Vernon St. is the perfect little home for the couple to truly start their lives together.

After carrying around the ring for six months, Kyle finally popped the question on April 2, 2022. The ring flew to California and Utah before making its appearance at home in the couple's own kitchen. After thirteen years, Taylor and Kyle are so excited to finally make it official!
