Quinn and Taylor met one night in the Fall of 2019, at the start of Junior year in the backyard of a friend's house. They started to spend more time together as friends and by Spring had gotten close to one another.

When the pandemic started, Taylor went home to Minnesota and Quinn stayed in California. They kept close through regular FaceTime calls and by the time the school year ended, Quinn flew out to visit Taylor in Minnesota.

A few days into the trip, Quinn and Taylor went for a walk by her house (because there wasn't much else to do during the pandemic). They stopped under a bridge and sat by the water, and Quinn asked Taylor to be his girlfriend. Surprise, she said yes.

Two and a half years later, after many California burrito dates, trips up the North Shore of Duluth, and long car rides back and forth, Quinn and Taylor went for another walk by her house on Christmas Eve. This time it was a cold winter day, and Quinn said he wanted to take some pictures of the sunset. They walked to the lake, and instead of taking pictures, Quinn told her to face the water and close her eyes. Then he asked her to marry him. Surprise once again, she said yes!
