Love you more than tacos.

When I first met Sam I had just moved back to Dallas after graduating college in Lubbock. I was living with my mom at the time and had just scraped together enough money to buy myself a decent car. I was lucky enough at my very first interview to land the job at Paul Martin’s. Sam swears I started after her but that we may never know because they shut down in 2020 and never paid a soul any PPP money so I’m sure they burned the documents… IRREGARDLESS I first remember seeing her in a staff meeting and it was quite possibly one of the most boring things to participate in while working at a restaurant. However, there was Sam in the back with a full binder of notes and a clipboard taking notes on what I assumed was the details of the meeting. In my head thinking, ok she’s a little nerdy but damn cute. Later that day or maybe the next I specifically remember making a comment about her taking notes and without skipping a beat she says, “Oh, I was probably just drawing penises”… I was a immediately entranced by her comedic timing and consumed by hilarity. I couldn’t get enough. Each moment I was away from her I dreamed of the moment I could be within her hilariously gorgeous presence. It could be about anything and everything. Often doing impressions of our bosses and of course your service industry gossip of the day. I would think to myself how can she know exactly what will make me laugh and simultaneously make me feel like I was even funny myself. Now I had my work cut out for me because at the time I was a server and she was a bartender so our chats could only come few and far between. So I immediately knew I wanted to become a bartender which unfortunately happened right around when she was becoming a manager. I do however remember specifically one shift when she was going over setting up the bar with me and we were finally able to have more than a 60 second conversation. I just remember being blown away by her vast knowledge and professionalism and feeling like I learned so much more from her in that day than over all my previous years of bartending. Absolutely hilarious, stunningly beautiful and also a genius!? My goodness I was lucky she even knew I existed. Long story short we went on a handful of consistently crazy awesome dates involving all kinds of ridiculous adventures of every variety. I kept falling more in love with her every day and as the time went on it only further solidified my absolute certainty that she was the one! Since beginning this journey with you 6 years ago now I can’t count the endless memories we’ve made together. From our very first concert together when neither of us even knew how to pronounce the band. To our New Orleans extravaganza of jazz and food! Our multiple trips to Mexico complete with relaxation and revelry! The trip to England and experiencing so many incredible things in so little time! Hawaii for so so many reasons is just etched into my brain forever, so magical! So many awesome comedy shows, Dave Chappelle, Tom Segura, Lewis Black, and Dane Cook. Harry Potter World!! Obviously because the proposal but also the butter beer was yummy. Our first camping trip was amazing, stargazing, fishing, fire-making, and SMORES! Last but not least the memories of our home together, just being lazy and doing whatever we want all day are priceless moments spent with you. I cannot wait to make a million more memories with you.
