It was May of 2020, and there was much unknown in the world about what tomorrow would be. A summer collegiate baseball team in Traverse City, Michigan still played under the lights that season. Taylor had just graduated from Olivet College and was not sure what she wanted to do next, so she took a ticket internship. Tyler was running the Food and Beverage Department for the team. There is always a joke about "Do not date the interns" but how else do you meet people when you work 80 plus hours a week. They both did their own thing and never really talked much to each other, until one of the first off days for the staff. Taylor volunteered to have everyone out on the pontoon on East Bay for the afternoon. Little did she know, Tyler would bring a cooler with enough adult beverages to make everyone hungover the next day. While on the boat, everyone was doing their own thing and just enjoying a day away from masks and social distancing. A friend asked Tyler who he thought Taylor liked? Tyler proceeded to say everyone's name on the boat except his. She had a smirk as he said his name last, and what happened next is where the story all started. Taylor was swimming around underneath the boat and Tyler jumped in. He swam up to her and planted a big kiss on her out of the blue. Taylor had a smile that was shining brighter than the sun that day. We decided to head back to shore and grill some burgers on the grill. After dinner, everyone started to part ways and Tyler headed home. He forgot his sandals at Taylor's and she was bound to return them that night. Unfortunately, Tyler was sound asleep at home due to drinking just a little too much that day. The relationship continued to grow throughout the season and even after. Tyler finally asked Taylor to be his girlfriend on October 25th, 2020. Now after almost 4 years of dating (3 years too long for Taylor) they are tying the knot! Tyler proposed on August 4th, 2023 on the very same bay that our first kiss was on. Yes, Oakley (our dog) will be at the wedding!
