Taylor and Sam had their first date at Tavern 29 in New York City on November 4th, 2020. They felt a spark right away and quickly planned a second date a few days later.
Sam first learned of Taylor’s love for sushi during their third date, when they shared Kazunori in Madison Square Park, followed by the fourth date at their favorite restaurant, Hillstone. After some time away for Thanksgiving and the holidays, they picked up right where they left off, introducing each other to their friends and taking their first weekend trip together to go skiing in upstate New York.
After navigating a long winter of Covid restrictions and outdoor dining in the cold, spring came and Taylor introduced Sam to her family over a Passover seder, followed by a trip to Chicago later in the summer for Taylor to meet Sam’s family. Taylor also took Sam on their first of many trips to Lake Hopatcong, which quickly became a special place in their relationship.
Taylor and Sam share a passion for traveling that inspired them to take amazing vacations to Iceland & Aruba in 2021, Arizona (where they spent three nights sleeping out in a camper van and driving to beautiful landmarks across the state) & Bahamas in 2022, and Colombia & Cayman Islands in 2023.
After Sam’s lease expired 2 months before Taylor’s in the summer of 2022 (and Caroline generously offered to allow Sam to become the third roommate for a few months), Taylor and Sam found a beautiful apartment on the Upper East Side, where they live together today.
Sam did his best to pull in as many of their special places as possible into their engagement, proposing and celebrating with their families at the lake house, before returning to the city the next day for lunch at Kazunori, drinks at Hillstone, and a celebration with friends where it all began at Tavern 29.
Taylor and Sam are so excited to celebrate their love with family and friends at their wedding at Hudson House in Jersey City on October 5th, 2024.
