It was the morning of May 6th, Cody and I were spending the weekend with our friends Jonas and Abby at the Ozarks. Cody and I typically have a normal Saturday tradition whenever we are out of town, we get up "early" and go to a local coffee shop for a cup of coffee. After we had gotten our coffee Cody told me that he really wanted to find a beach where we could sit and watch the sunrise while we enjoyed our coffee.

We got to the beach, but unfortunately there was a fishing competition being hosted there. Which for Cody, meant that this was not going to be the perfect place to propose. Cody had to quickly come up with a new plan, he said “let’s drive around to the other side of the beach” (I was still very clueless at this point). We drove around to the other side of the beach and came across a short trail that led down to the water. We parked the truck and headed down the trail. As we got to the bottom of the trail, it was like the sun was beaming perfectly on us and the water couldn’t have been calmer. Unfortunately for Cody, HE FORGOT TO BRING THE RING. After a few minutes we walked back up to the truck and I hopped in, ready to head back to the cabin we were staying in. Then, Cody asked “well don’t you want to get a Polaroid picture of that spot?”. Me: still being clueless said, “YES! That’s a great idea!”. We headed back down the trail, (me in front of Cody)… I noticed that Cody seemed pretty quiet as we were walking back down the trail. So as soon as I got to the water I turned around, and there Cody was on one knee.

Cody couldn’t have picked a more beautiful spot to propose. The lake makes up a lot of our relationship and brings us so much joy. We are excited to continually visit this picturesque spot for years to come.

Finally, we headed back to the cabin and convinced Jonas and Abby to drive all the way back to the spot to help us recreate the proposal for pictures!
