Our Story

It All Started In 2019...

David and I started our story on a cold February night in 2019. We met in college at UMD through mutual friends. We became almost inseparable from the beginning.

From the very beginning, David knew this day would come. I liked hanging out with David during my freshmen year, mostly because he had a vehicle at school, and I did not. I asked him many times to bring me places, although my roommate and all of my closest college friends had cars. It may have just been his red 93 Chevy. Three months after meeting me (yes meeting, not dating) we were hanging out together when he went to drop me off at my dorm. As we were pulling into the parking lot he made a sharp turn into a separate lot. At this time he put the truck in park and looked over at me in a way I've never seen him look at me before. He then proceeded to quickly and nervously say "We can't be friends anymore." I was shocked at this because we got along extremely well. I asked him why... He told me "Because I am so in love with you that I can't stand it." Now, I'm not proud of how I responded, which was a quick "Thanks!" as I jumped out of his truck. But, as you can see his confession has brought us seven years down the road to a (hopefully) beautiful day to say "I do."

Our story started there, but we dove deep into our passions together, side by side. A memory that always comes to mind is when we flew down to Vegas to buy a used Trans-Am while David was sick with mono, and I didn't know how to drive a stick shift (during finals week). We were only dating three months. All of our parents and closest friends thought that trip was going to be the end of a quick relationship, but we made it back in time for finals with smiles on our faces from all the memories we made. Our passion of travel and adventures continued to grow. We have now traveled to Canada, the U.P., across the country to the Pacific Northwest camping in the back of a truck the entire time. To California to see the Red Woods and Yosemite (Thanks to our great friend for allowing us to borrow her car). And most recently to Florida, stopping in Nashville. We hope to continue the path of travel and adventures as we continue to grow together.

We have accomplished a lot through our mutual passion of being each others biggest cheerleaders. Especially David, while getting his pilots liscense and joining the Airforce National Guard (Okay, I'm just bragging now).

To finish this part of our story before we continue the rest of it in marriage, I can't forget to mention our biggest pride and joy. Our 8 year old Chocolate Lab, whom we will always be greatful for being such a large part of making us who we are. I know, he's just a dog, but as both our dog's "grandparents" know. He is our baby. Who will also be part of our special day.

To each and everyone of you who are coming to celebrate our big day with us, (in person or in spirit) we want to thank you for being such an integral part of our story and forming us to who we are. Whether you know just David or just me, know that we wouldn't be the people we are today without you. And, we wouldn't have been able to create and continue creating this chapter without you. We can't wait for our big day to be surrounded by you, and to party it UP!
