Our Story

How We Met

Blind dates aren’t always scary people!! Andrew and I were fortunate enough to be set up by a mutual friend, Kellye! Kellye and Andrew have remained great friends since attending college together, and I was lucky to have her as one of my mentors through Nurse Anesthesia school at UT. A few years later, she met my brother through similar training (which sparked her memory), and after several conversations she realized she had the perfect guy for me to meet! I'll never forget her asking if I would be interested in meeting one of her friends. She quickly sent me a picture of him and told me all the pertinent details, but naturally I didn't think anything was going to come of it. He reached out a few days later and we set up a time to meet. At this point I was very nervous but also so excited to meet him!! We met July 28, 2022 at Firebirds for dinner and we were one of the last people in the restaurant. I couldn’t get enough of him then and I still can’t! We have been together and in love ever since!

Proposal

Picture of Proposal

Our engagement was a complete surprise for me! We had previously looked at engagement rings back in September, so I knew it would eventually happen just wasn't sure when and at the rate he was going... I was thinking years. However, on December 15, 2023, he finally asked! He set up a fake dinner date with his brother and sister in-law at lakeside. We arrived early and he asked to go see if his boat was still floating. Which he jokingly has said this numerous times, so it was nothing out of the ordinary and at this point I was still clueless. As we were walking down the dock, I noticed that the cover of his boat was off and asked him about it. I turned back around and saw flowers on the boat and then I knew. I turned and looked at him in shock and I immediately started tearing up. When we finally made it to the boat, there were rose petals scattered along with multiple bouquets of flowers and tea lights, champagne, and a cake. He handed me one of the bouquets and then got down on one knee and the rest is history!
