A friendship that blossomed into so much more. Whether it was drinks, dinner, Alex dragging Taylor to a sporting event, or a wine night on the apartment rooftop overlooking Downtown Des Moines, the relationship has felt so effortless and natural in all aspects. Through all the hardships faced, opening our hearts to one another was the greatest decision we could have made. Some of our favorite memories made together include weekend getaways, our trip to Oahu, first holidays together and being one another’s workout partner.

If you ask Taylor, the proposal took too long to happen but the evening turned out just as perfect as could be imagined. Wiping the smile off one another’s face that night was impossible. After a weekend trip to Omaha that ended up including a visit to a local jeweler to get an idea of sizes and styles Taylor would like, it took Alex a full two days to call their saleswoman, Deb back and get the ring ordered. Deb had the best Boston accent and with Alex’s love for the Red Sox, closing the deal was the only option!

Fast-forward to January, 2023 and Alex had Taylor thinking she was going on a “choose your own adventure” date night. This started with driving to a restaurant downtown next to the Sculpture Park. Instead of dinner, it was a proposal in the Sculpture Park with a celebration surrounded by friends and family to follow. Since engagement and starting our life living together in Ankeny, we cannot contain our excitement for our special day.
