It began with a follow...

He walks into a coffee shop and sees her sitting, reading a book. Curiosity pulls him towards her table. Puzzled, she looks up and he says...

"You know your book's upside-down, right?" and walks away laughing.

Ken and I began interacting with each other on the social media website, Twitter. From our social media exchanges, we began to find that we had similar interests and points of view. It got to the point to where we logged on to Twitter every day just to interact with each other. I found it odd and exciting that I was intrigued by a person on a social media website. Since most of our Twitter conversations were with each other, we decided to exchange Blackberry pin numbers so that we could communicate regularly.

At one point Blackberry messenger was having technical issues so, Ken asked me for my phone number. The friendship that developed from our conversations prompted our first meeting. After meeting each other, the conversations that followed provided a chance to learn more about each other and produced a long-distance dating relationship (Florida/North Carolina). Our relationship has grown through daily contact and visits to each other. In this relationship, I have learned what it's like to fall in love with your best friend and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.

Say what, now?...

On June 5, 2015 I was preparing for a lovely dinner in Las Vegas. Dinner was wonderful and afterwards, I was under the impression that we were leaving for a night of sight-seeing. However, Ken decided that he was going to order dessert. I was a little annoyed, but calmed down when I realized that the Vegas sites aren't going anywhere.

While waiting for dessert, Ken began to ask me a question. Without letting him pose his question, I looked at him and said, "Yes Kenneth, I will marry you". That response was part of a running joke that I have for the times where Ken pauses before asking me something. (I had NO idea that he was going to propose that night). Once Ken's dessert arrived at the table, I noticed that the people around us were staring . I became uncomfortable after I saw a pair of ladies get up from their table and walk toward us with their camera phones pointed in our direction.

As it turns out, before dinner, Ken told the restaurant staff to inform the tables around us that he was going to propose and to ask them if they would take pictures and record video. He had also provided his email address to the staff for the diners to send their footage after it was captured. With strangers gathered around, Kenneth took my breath away by asking me to be his wife. I happily accepted and now, we began our journey into forever.
