Getting to Madison

For those outside of driving distance, there are three reasonable airports to fly into.

Flying into Madison

Madison has a small airport, the Dane County Regional Airport (MSN), with direct flights to many major US airports. The hotel and wedding venue are a short 15 minute drive away, or can be reached via public bus in about 30 minutes (take the D from the airport to E Gorham at N Paterson, then walk 4 blocks).

Flying into Chicago O'Hare

You can fly into Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and either rent a car or take a bus. The drive is about 2 hours. The Van Galder bus takes about 3 hours and leaves every hour on the hour from 9am–midnight (tickets and schedule available at <a href="https://www.coachusa.com/airport-transportation/van-galder" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.coachusa.com/airport-transportation/van-galder</a>). It drops off on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, a 10–15 minute local bus ride from the venue and hotel (take the A or B from East Campus to Paterson, walk less than 1 block).

Flying into Milwaukee

You can fly into Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and either rent a car or take a bus. The drive is approximately 1.5 hours. The Badger Bus takes about 2 hours, but runs infrequently (tickets and information available at <a href="https://badgerbus.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">badgerbus.com</a>). Like the bus from O'Hare, it also drops off on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, a 10–15 minute local bus ride from the venue and hotel (take the A or B from East Campus to Paterson, walk less than 1 block).

Lodging

We have a room block at Hotel Indigo Madison Downtown, which is a 1 block walk away from the wedding venue. Book online with our group code QRE, or call and ask for the group rate for the Wilson–Cecchetti wedding. At this point, the hotel has told us they cannot add more rooms to the room block, so if it is full, you will need to book elsewhere.

Parking is available at the cost of $20/day.

The Moxy is on the same block as the wedding venue, so is also an excellent option for people looking to stay close by.

Slightly farther away from the wedding venue than Hotel Indigo or The Moxy. To get to the venue by public bus, take the A or B bus from the State St stop (at the intersection of State and Johnson, 2 blocks from the hotel) to Paterson, which is around the corner.

Hampton Inn & Suites Madison / Downtown

Slightly farther away from the wedding venue than Hotel Indigo or The Moxy. To get to the venue by public bus, take the A or B bus from the State St stop (at the intersection of State and Johnson, 2.5 blocks from the hotel) to Paterson, which is around the corner.

DoubleTree by Hilton Madison Downtown

There are several other nearby hotels surround Capitol Square, about a 15–20 min walk or a 5 min drive from the wedding venue. This includes the Madison Concourse Hotel, Embassy Suites Madison Downtown, Hilton Madison Monona Terrace, Best Western Premier Park Hotel, Hyatt Place Madison Downtown, and many others.

Parking Near the Wedding Venue

If you plan to stay further away and drive to The Tinsmith, we recommend you park at the South Livingston Street Garage, about a block away from the wedding venue. It is $8/day on weekends.

Travel

The Dane County Farmers' Market is one of the largest farmers markets in the country. It runs every Saturday from 6:15am–1:45pm on the Capitol Square, just a 15 minute walk from the wedding venue and hotel block.

Madison's Olbrich Botanical Gardens are a little over 2 miles from the wedding venue and hotel (a 5–10 minute drive). The gardens are open 10am–6pm daily. Admission to the outdoor gardens is free, and the indoor conservatory costs $6/person and closes at 4pm.

The Wisconsin State Capitol provides free tours starting every hour (except 12pm) from 9am–4pm on weekdays, or 9am–3pm on Saturday. It is in the center of Capitol Square, a 15 min walk from the wedding venue and hotel block.

Where is the registry? I want to send you something!

We understand that many of you want to send us wedding gifts. We really appreciate it! However, we really don't need many things. We already have two full apartments of stuff, and we will need to get rid of things when we combine them. Also, almost everyone is traveling in from out of town. We just want to see you. While we appreciate your generosity, we cannot ask you to spend even more money buying us things we don't really need.
