Tenin and Saidi happened to cross paths in the most unexpected way. Tenin joined the Brockport Muslim Students Association in April 2022, during Ramadan. She didn't see anyone significant, particularly Saidi (JK). They both became friends and eventually took the next step.

I think the moment Tenin knew Saidi was “the one” was when he asked for my uncle's number after taking her to Jummah Prayer one Friday afternoon. She knew from that day forward that he was serious. The icing on the cake was when she traveled to Mali and had another option, but her being away from him made her feelings for Saidi grow stronger. It was the moment, once she was on the plane going back home to NYC, that she realized how much I would miss him. She never wanted to be without him again! Saidi is a polite, compassionate person who never fails to make Tenin smile. When he traveled to come see her in New York City for a week, Tenin knew it was real. That her happily ever after will finally become a reality.

Saidi recognized Tenin as the one right from the beginning. Her beauty captivated him, and as he got to know her better, his love for her grew. He admires her kindness, caring nature, and strong family values. Moreover, Saidi appreciates the fact that he can engage in endless conversations with her on any topic. Taking a significant leap, Saidi mustered the courage to ask Tenin for her uncles phone number, intending to seek her hand in marriage.
