Lake Como is one of the destinations that the whole world envies and is just under half an hour's drive from the Villa. Let yourself be enchanted by the medieval villages clinging to the lake shores such as the romantic Varenna, or enter the aristocratic residences now returned to the general public as museums and cultural and architectural heritage, such as Villa Serbelloni and Villa Melzi in Bellagio. Just a few minutes' drive from Merate, Lecco will amaze you with its Manzonian-style views, while on the opposite branch, Como fascinates with its Roman roots.

Bergamo has two souls. The Lower Town reveals itself to the visitor in a contemporary guise, here culture lovers can “meet” Botticelli, Titian and Raphael at the Accademia Carrara, while the Sentierone satisfies those who cannot give up shopping! The climb to the Upper Town with the funicular is unmissable: a short journey through time starting from the means of transport. The historic heart of Bergamo is located on the hill, with the Piazza Vecchia and its Campanone and the Duomo with the Colleoni Chapel. And to return to the Lower Town we recommend walking along the Venetian walls, a UNESCO heritage site.

But the real gem is the immense Villa Reale, of the Savoy royal family, with its 700 apartments and set in one of the largest enclosed parks in Europe. So large that it houses the Temple of Speed, the Autodrome which every year, hosts the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix.
