How far away is Slidell from New Orleans?

Slidell is 35 minutes from Downtown New Orleans by car. Lyft and Uber are available, service is limited and $50 one way. There is no available public transportation across the lake.

How can we stay in touch?

Great question! There is a private Facebook group where we wil post updates and information, it can be used for rideshare or general whereabouts for partying. Request to join at the link below. Any questions can be posted to the Facebook group.

Are children invited?

Of course! Children are always welcome in church and if they get a little fussy there is a quiet room at the back of the church where you can take a break. Children are welcomed at the reception and activities and games will be available to them. No childcare will be provided. Adults attending will be seated outside near the children's area (and second bar) to allow them space to move.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

No, use of your phone during church is considered disrespectful and we'd like to keep that portion of our wedding unplugged. Please step outside for emergencies and leave the photohraphy to the professional.

I can't attend the ceremony but want to come to the reception.

That's totally fine! Your RSVP is needed for the reception but if you have to work, church isn't your thing or don't think you/your kid can hang the whole time feel free to only appear at the Sadie Jane.

I haven't been to church for a while what can I expect?

Pretty much just sit quietly and be polite and you're good to go. You don't have to participate in anything, but you can sit, stand and kneel when everyone else does. Cover your shoulders and knees if possible. If you are not Catholic, stay seated during communion.

What can I expect at the Reception?

The reception is at a modern barn venue on a golf course next to the country club building. There is plenty of lawn to spread out and the reception will be indoor/outdoor, weather permitting. There is plenty of parking. The event will be kid friendly with activities for all ages. Buffet style food, an open bar, a photo booth and a DJ will play. We will have cake of course =) At 8:45pm there will be an exit procession.

What time are family photos?

We will take a limited number of family photos after the church ceremony. Please stay after the ceremony at the church to take photos in front of the church. Family groups are encouraged to take advantage of the photo booth.
