Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Alex whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad. Determined to save their home, not to mention his, Alex cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess T to be Farquaad's bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret.

Plane, Train, Car or, Broom Travel to see the Bride and Groom. 

The Bitterroot River Inn is centrally located in Hamilton Montana. Hamilton is approximately twenty five minutes from the wedding venue and gives guests access to local shopping, grocery stores and, multiple restaurants while also being just a short excursion from Bitterroot National Forest access and trail heads.

The Mountain Spirit Inn is located just outside downtown Darby Montana. This hotel option is a locally owned and operated business with a small amount of rooms approximately a half hour from the wedding location.

There are many hotel options in Missoula including downtown and in the airport area. Missoula is the largest city in closed proximity to the wedding venue and also boasts the Missoula International Airport. Missoula itself is about a fifty minute to an hour drive from the wedding venue one way on Highway 93. Missoula has many more accommodations and amenities then the Bitterroot Valley for any guests with special needs or restrictions. Some hotels in Missoula we recommend include..... Air b&amp;b and Virbo are great options in and around the Bitterroot Valley and Missoula area. keep in mind Sula and Connor locations are beautiful and rustic but, also far away form our venue and goods/ services. Many rental homes in the area have strict rules and guest agreements; be sure to read the fine print if you decide to go with one of these rentals. some towns or searches to consider in the Bitterroot Valley include.....-Darby-Hamilton-Corvallis-Stevensville -Victor -"Bitterroot Valley MT" Some Towns or Searches to consider using if planning on staying closer to Missoula include......-Florence-Lolo-Missoula

Air B&B Bitterroot Valley 

Missoula International Airport is a small airport that does not offer direct flights a majority of the time however, it is the most centrally located in regard to wedding venue and the Bitterroot Valley. This airport also offers on sight car rentals through the major providers and can be booked online ahead of time. Some hotels in the Missoula and Bitterroot Valley areas offer shuttles to and from the airport.

Flights into Spokane WA, international airport are usually more budget friendly due to it being a larger airport however, it does come with a commute. The drive from Spokane to Corvallis MT and the wedding venue is approximately four hours however, they also have rental car services available.

Many guest have asked us about the cross-country Amtrak to Whitefish Montana. There is a train that runs from many stations on the east coast out west, through the Flathead valley and Glacier National Park. It is a beautiful train ride where guests can see all the majesty Montana has to offer however, keep in mind that passenger trains always run second to and are delayed by cargo trains on the U.S. railroad system therefore; your arrival date as projected by your ticket will most likely be delayed by DAYS! Amtrak is a better option for commuting home from the wedding then to the wedding due to the delays in schedule you will have as a passenger. If you decided to ride the train to our wedding build in an extra week at least as to not miss the big day (Oct. 31st). From the Amtrak Station in Whitefish MT. to the wedding venue is a scenic three and a half hour drive also prepare and plan for this.

There are two Enterprise rent a car locations in Missoula MT; one Enterprise is located at the airport and the other on Broadway Ave a short Uber from the airport. A third Enterprise location is in Hamilton Montana closer to the wedding venue but farther form the airport. There is Uber and Lyft available in Missoula however in the Bitterroot valley there are only private taxi services. Guests should plan accordingly for this lack of ride service apps.

The Blodgett Canyon Overlook trail is a smokejumper memorial trail leading to a beautiful overlook and observation point. The trail head is located several miles form Hamilton Montana and includes a forest service parking lot, bathroom and, several access points to hiking on the Bitterroot National Forest. This trail is a project both the groom and bride have worked to maintain during their careers on forest and is near and dear to their hearts. The overlook trial is family friendly and a quick hour or so hike with a semi-substantial elevation gain. There is also a more flat but longer trail that takes off from the same trail head location which winds through the bottom of the canyon and is more promising for our flatlander friends. Maps available posted at the trail head or online via Strava and On-X Hunt mapping applications.

Lake Como is the shinning jewel of Darby Montana and is also one of the nations most visited recreation sites. The lake offers a walking path around its edge with waterfall access, an all sand beach and, more forest hiking trails.

Down highway 579 smack in the middle of Lolo Montana just over the Idaho border you will find both the Nez-pierce Clearwater National Forest and the naturally occurring Weir Creek Hot Springs. From the Forest Service parking area it is a short half mile hike to the four pools of varying temperature that are the hot springs. Time and adventure permitting check out the geothermal features our area have to offer.

Sula Peak lookout is a fire lookout established originally in 1929 and, is still staffed today during the summers with wildland firefighters as a first line of detection and initial attack platform. Although it has been rebuilt and modernized over time it remains a beautiful viewing point giving spectators eyes on the populated Bitterroot valley in one direction and, the wild Sula ranger district and Lost Trail mountain pass in the other. The fire lookout access road is located south of Darby Montana and winds up the mountain to the tower. Four wheel drive vehicles required! Sula the area its self often lends sightings of full curl big horn sheep, Elk and, other wildlife so please be careful when driving and recreating on FS roads.
