What started out as a Star Wars quote greeting has turned into a wonderful, joyous, love-filled life together. Colin and Teresa met online in August of 2020, met in-person for the first time in Teresa’s hometown of Newaygo a few weeks later, and they have been inseparable ever since.

After talking online for a few weeks, Colin and Teresa finally met in person. The plan was to go to Teresa’s favorite cafe in town, but because of pandemic restrictions the cafe had shortened hours. Plan B ended up being Subway and just chatting at the riverside park, which ended up lasting almost 6 hours. 6 hours of stories, jokes, laughs, and just a really great time. Every weekend following was spent at Colin’s apartment playing video games, building Lego sets, watching movies, and enjoying sushi dates.

Shorty after celebrating Teresa’s 10 year anniversary as a firefighter, she and Colin made the decision to move out of Newaygo. An opportunity opened up to move back to Colin’s hometown of Belmont and they jumped on it. Belmont is the perfect place for them to raise a family, and that’s exactly what they were looking for. After many days of moving with the help of their families, they made the move in April 2023.

Christmas Day 2023 Colin surprised Teresa with a proposal! They’ve been talking about engagement for over a year, but the ring and the proposal day were a huge surprise. Time to plan the party of a lifetime.
