Good things always happen for a reason, and for some reason Teri Shepherd gave Brian Barney a chance. This chance started at a mutual friend's house one night and a conversation about vitamins. This conversation did not go well, but something special was there just waiting on the perfect opportunity. Though Teri was enrolled at Christian Brother University, she enjoyed football and Brian's friends had a great place to tailgate before games so their paths continued to cross. Eventually their paths crossed enough times and Brian asked Teri to go on a date. This first date took Teri completely out of her comfort zone to a place to try something she had never had before, sushi. As a chef, Teri knew that Brian was open to trying a variety of food she had never had before but she gave this a shot, much like she was giving him one. At that moment sushi became her new favorite food, and their love story began. This lead to time spent laughing, growing together professionally and emotionally, and most importantly finding time to have fun together. These times made their bond stronger, a bond that is truly meant to last a lifetime.

In a traditional approach, Brian asked George Shepherd for permission to marry Teri at a STL Cardinals baseball game. George's response was straight to the point, "Sure, it's about time." And it was about time, the two of them had been dating for 7 years. The proposal didn't happen right away, Brian took his time to plan the date and make sure the moment was right. The right moment came on her birthday in 2012 in the Papa John Sculpture Park in front of their families with her sweet baby, Daisy, wearing a wedding dress carrying the ring. Teri was in complete shock, she believed they were going to Americana for desert before heading to Les Miserable. Of course she said yes!! Now 2 ½ years later they are FINALLY getting married!!
