Our Story

Once upon a time, in January 2004, amidst the hustle and bustle of the Goldsmith Plant offices, our story began. I had gone to their office for business and met Chris as a result. We became instant friends, bonding over business banter, family tales, and the drama of work life. Despite the ebb and flow of change over the years—jobs, life's twists and turns—we remained connected, even if it meant a year or two between catching up. We would kid each other about not staying in touch much, always blaming each other for it, saying we were both just chopped liver to the other. Over the years, we would occasionally meet for lunch to catch up and have some laughs, but typically we would go months, or even a year or two, without a word or a call. Then out of the blue one of us would text, “wrud” and we would trade texts for a bit, maybe even for a week or two, and then we would go back on with our own lives for a while. However, he was always there, remembering my birthday and sending holiday wishes, even when our communication was sparse. I’ve kept the same number for years, but when he would get a new phone from changing jobs, I was always one of the first people he would give his new number to.

Then, in January 2021, a text changed everything. He had just moved out for the start of his divorce and we met at Red Oak Kitchen for dinner to catch up and share some laughs. A few days later, he asked me if I would travel to Dallas with him for his knee MRI, but I was not able to go. However, we began to stay in touch more frequently and as the months passed, our conversations deepened. Then one night in September, he called me and I actually answered—a rare occurrence for me. He was stumbling over his words, trying to ask me to a Dallas Cowboys game. Even though we’d been friends all these years, he was acting like a teenage boy asking a girl out for the first time. Despite his nervousness, I couldn't help but tease him and agree to go; after all, it was the Cowboys! 😉 What started as a friendly outing quickly evolved. We decided to go to another Cowboys game together the next weekend and our bond began to grow stronger. On the way home from Fort Worth that weekend, as we were literally less than a mile from my house, he began stammering around trying to initiate a conversation about us dating. One fateful day two weeks later, on October 16th, 2021 to be exact, we were in Kingsland, TX and he couldn't contain his feelings any longer. With trembling hands and a heart full of love, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and without hesitation, I said yes, knowing deep down that I was the luckiest girl in the world.

Time flew by, and our lives became filled with laughter, love, and shared moments. Talk of moving in together went from distant plans to reality sooner than we ever imagined. And then one June evening in 2023, under a starry sky (and after already having asked my daughter for her blessing), he proposed to me in Ruidoso, New Mexico, making my heart overflow with joy as I said yes to forever with my best friend and soulmate.

So October 20,2024 we will seal our bond with our friends and loved ones in San Jose Del Cabo… We can't wait to celebrate our love with you!
