Brett and Tessa could talk for days about their Kansas City recommendations. This list includes places and events that are either in the Crossroads Art District, or are a short, free, Streetcar ride away. Please feel free to text them if you want to try their favorite restaurants, shop in the neighborhood where they used to live, or are curious about a specific experience not on this list!
Events
First Fridays
A popular event hosted on the first Friday of every month. Along the streets in the Crossroads Arts district you'll find food trucks and artist booths set up amongst the local businesses, restaurants, and breweries.
Farmers Market at City Market
Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 3pm visit the City Market Farmers Market. Vendors include local farmers, artists, food trucks, and more.
Bars & Breweries
Boulevard Brewing Company
The favorite brewery of Brett, Tessa, and the rest of KC! Take a tour, buy some merch, or enjoy the 30 rotating taps and apps in the Beer Hall. Brett recommends any of the Space Camper IPAs, and Tessa loves the Quirk hard seltzers - specifically the blueberry lemon & lavender.
Tom's Town Distilling Co.
A local distillery specializing in vodka, gin, bourbon, and whiskey, Tom's Town offers a restaurant and tasting room, tours, and cocktail classes.
Up-Down KC
An arcade bar in the Crossroads with a variety of new and classic arcade games as well as yard games on the top floor patio.
Power & Light District
A entire city block with two levels of bars and restaurants in downtown Kansas City. Our favorite bars include the Leinenkugel's Leinie Lodge, Howl at the Moon, No Other Pub, and McFadden's.
Other
Union Station
Kansas City's historic train station turned into a space with restaurants, cocktail bars, exhibition halls, a planetarium and family-friendly science museum.
