Our Wedding

Chris and Tessa both attended McAuliffe Heights from Kindergarten through 6th grade. They were in the same grade but never shared the same teacher, except Kindergarten. After graduating from 6th grade, they both transitioned to Altoona Area Jr. High, where Chris was in the band and played soccer. Tessa was a cheerleader and danced outside of school. After three years of Jr. High, Chris and Tessa moved up to the high school. Their social lives diverged as they dated other people throughout high school but always had their eyes on each other. During their junior year, they would walk from the B building to the A building everyday to go to third-period trigonometry. After high school, Chris attended Penn State Altoona for two years, then moved to the main campus his last two years of college to study Biomedical Engineering. Tessa moved to Pittsburgh, where she attended Robert Morris University for nursing. The summer before their junior year of college, both Chris and Tessa were home in Altoona working. Tessa was working as a waitress at Hoss's and Chris was working for his Dad. Chris' job was close to Hoss's, where he and his dad would stop for lunch frequently. After one of these visits, Chris decided to slide into Tessa's DMs on Instagram. They starting talking, and Chris mentioned that they should meet to catch up. Tessa, trying to be funny, replied back, "I'll have my people talk to your people." Chris took that to mean she wasn't interested. After a week of radio silence, Tessa messaged Chris. They arranged a time to meet at DQ for ice cream. Neither one of them knew if they were going on a date or just catching up as friends. As expected, the "date" went well, and the two started hanging out as much as possible. They would go on hikes, explore waterfalls, drive for hours, or meet up at a park after work. On July 16, 2018, Chris asked Tessa to be his girlfriend. At the end of summer, Tessa moved back to Pittsburgh, and Chris moved back to State College. They would take turns traveling to see each other on the weekends. After graduation, Chris decided to stay at Penn State to complete their Electrical Engineering graduate program. Tessa got her first nursing job at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in the NICU. They continued their long distance relationship for the next few years. During this time, Chris moved to Baltimore, MD and upstate NY for a few months in the summer. Despite being 7 hours away, they both made the time to see each other. Chris graduated with his master's degree and after almost 5 years of long distance, Chris and Tessa moved to Lock Haven together. Chris started working in State College and Tessa was hired at Geisinger in Danville. November 1st, 2023, on their way to Pittsburgh for Tessa's birthday, Chris and Tessa stopped at Buttermilk falls in Johnstown. This waterfall was one of their very first dates as a couple. Chris had recently bought a drone and told Tessa he wanted to get aerial videos of the falls. He asked Tessa to stand under the waterfall while he was flying the drone. Once in position, Chris joined Tessa under the waterfall where he proposed to her. Tessa was very surprised; however, the biggest surprise was yet to come. When they returned to the car, Chris told Tessa that he had the engagement ring custom-made with two stones from Tessa's mom's engagement ring. And they lived happily ever after...
