Brad and Tessa's story officially began in March 2017, however, they really owe everything to a little Cajun restaurant we all know and love, called Pappadeaux. You see, while they never actually worked there at the same time, fate would have them cross paths time and time again. Although, Brad was inevitably fired (another story for another day) well before Tessa was hired, he continued to frequent the local watering hole next door known as Wizards. Many weeknights of pool and Saturday mornings of watching Iowa football made him "a regular". It was two years after Tessa started working at Pappadeaux before she was finally allowed to step foot through those magical doors with her fellow coworkers as Brad was well on his way to having a section of the bar named after him. Over the next 5 years of working at Pappadeaux, she ran into Brad every now and then and she always found him to be very easy to talk to. However, she was always in a long-term relationship which kept them from being anything more than friends. Fast forward to March 2017 when both Brad and Tessa were in completely new places in life. Brad, now sober (who the hell saw that coming) and Tessa, after 2 years of living the single life in Uptown was finally ready to fire up that Bumble app! Can you guess who her very first match was on the very first day of signing back in? That's right, it was, Brad! Although, Tessa swiped right on Brad because she was happy to see a familiar face, Brad had other intentions.... (insert devil emoji). Tessa invited Brad out with her friends to bar in Deep Ellum, called Dot's. When he arrived, they started connecting with ease. One date lead to three, which lead to two inseparable weeks together. At some point in those two weeks they both realized they had the same dream to travel the world. This wasnt your standard dream to take a vacation and see this country or that country, but to truly travel... to leave everything you know and love behind and travel the world for an extended period of time, a period of time without a set destination point. To travel without a return flight. So the journey began, the plan to save as much money as possible and sell all their belongings. The two embarked on a journey of the unknown, it was unknown when they would return, it was unknown where exactly they'd be going, it was unknown what would happen, how things would turn out, but they had each other to lean on as they faced the adventure of a lifetime.... January 2019 Tessa and Brad had quit their jobs, sold their belongings (even a classic 92 Chevy.. tear), got a one way ticket to New Zealand (thanks to a friend) and said goodbye to all they knew. So much to be said throughout the journey they'd be happy to share so dont ever hesitate to ask. The two spent every day and every night together from the hillsides of New Zealand, to the 1200 steps up the mountainside temple between Thailand and Myanmar, to the magical motor bike rides in remote roads of Vietnam, to the always entertaining train rides of India and the epic tuk-tuk journey of Sri Lanka, from January 2019 to April 2020 the two spent every waking moment together. In good times and in bad, they did not part. A true testament of their love for one another they faced adversity dead on and came out stronger for it.Statistically proven that a year of travel together is equal to 10 years of marriage... okay, maybe thats made up, but it should be studied and proven otherwise. Tessa and Brad had dedicated their lives together some time ago, now they are making it official with the love and support of all of you. Thank you all so much for joining in this celebration and we couldnt be more excited for this day!

Hey everyone! Brad and I are so looking forward to our big day! Being that we both LOVE to make a trip out of every occasion, we hope that you all will join us in making this a wedding weekend to remember! At this time, we have an Airbnb booked from Thursday, 4.4 - Sunday, 4.7. We plan to enjoy the New Braunfels river life and everything else that NB &amp; Gruene have to offer. There will be plenty of eating, imbibing, games and spending quality time with all of you who are making the trek to support the beginning of our next chapter! All this being said, we would love for everyone to get the full NB, TX experience by booking a house with friends and family (through Airbnb, Vrbo, Vacassa, etc.) for that vacation feel! Otherwise, there are many hotels in the area that are within minutes of all the best outdoor activities. Stay tuned for updates on hotel information if you plan to go that route! Please see the "Hotel Block" page for more information. PSA:New Braunfels &amp; Gruene are very popular spring and summer destinations! We HIGHLY encourage you to look into places to stay now as they are quickly booking up, especially the bigger places that can accommodate larger groups of families and friends.
