Jake and Teva met all the way back in 2011 on the first day of 9th grade at Rush Henrietta. After being assigned to sit next to one another in Ms. Benitez's Spanish class, they quickly developed a friendship- a bond built on Jake's terrible pronunciation and their love of the Grateful Dead. They had every single Spanish class together each year after. In reality, Teva was the only reason that Jake passed Spanish all of those years...
Then they both graduated and of course, Jake followed Teva to SUNY Oneonta -- Or so she says. While Freshmen, they remained close and in touch. Both always there for each other if they needed anything. Jake then transferred to SUNY Geneseo in 2016.
After they both graduated in 2018, Jake and Teva had gotten back in touch. From the Dead and Company concert, to long bonfire nights, and countless lunch dates...
They finally started to date.
Moving into their first apartment together only brought them closer. Together they found their beagle, Ziggy, in 2019.
Through the countless struggles and challenges that everyday life brings, Jake and Teva have always had each other's backs -- Ever since that September day in Spanish class.
Built on the foundation of friendship, they were able to fall into a love that they are both grateful for.
