Tevin first saw Mackenzie when he stopped to ask for directions to the Macon High School track in the spring of 2022; he was recruiting, and she was working as an English teacher. They both searched social media and school websites for one another after the encounter, but they didn't talk again until Mackenzie started working in the Admissions Office at CMU, where Tevin was coaching and often stopped in to flirt... and talk recruitment, of course.

Though Mackenzie likes to joke that their first date was at Taco Bell (there’s nothing open in Macon on a Monday!), Tevin officially asked Mackenzie out for “D&D” by leaving a post-it note in her planner. They went to D. Rowe’s in Columbia.

Tevin helped Mackenzie move to Columbia, where they shared many more dates including mini-golf, the corn maze, movies, and almost always ice cream!

While Tevin met Mackenzie’s mom during the move, she didn’t meet the Riddles until Tevin brought her home for Christmas, where she experienced the Cincinnati Zoo Lights and a Bengals game.

Tevin spent a lot of time at Mackenzie’s apartment before they officially moved in together.

In the same apartment, they got to share many more moments, both big and small: Tevin coaching two National Champion athletes, Mackenzie’s 30th birthday, and new jobs! They love time at home watching TV shows, making meals, playing games (Tevin), reading books (Mackenzie), and learning more about one another.

CMU hosted the Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Meet. After helping coach both men’s and women’s teams to conference wins and rings, Tevin surprised Mackenzie with her own ring, proposing in front of a group of very excited athletes.

Excited to begin their married life together, Tevin and Mackenzie set their wedding date and venue for NYE 2025. They are looking forward to a few months of planning before sharing the big day with their closest family and friends!
