Our story starts in the South where Sundays meant church, choirs, and community. We grew up singing together: Matthew, the passionate choir director, full of vision and volume; Shay, the alto who showed up faithfully… even if she did prefer blending in over belting out.

Truth be told, Matthew wasn’t checking for Shay like that back then. But Shay? She was telling folks she was going to marry him one day. (Prophetic? Maybe. Persistent? Absolutely.)

Life took us on separate journeys with different cities, callings, and seasons. We lost touch, but God never lost track. Years later, a simple brunch to catch up turned into something neither of us expected. The conversation flowed. The connection deepened. And what began as reconnection quickly became revelation. Something real had been growing all along.

This love is intentional. It's rooted in friendship, flavored with faith, and marked by divine timing.
