Our Wedding

Who would have thought that a simple friendship could bloom into something so beautiful? Our journey began with occasional meetings during Michelle’s visits to Zimbabwe. Over time, our connection quietly deepened, though we didn’t always realise it. We shared laughter, adventures, and even a light-hearted attempt at practising a church duet – a memory that still makes us smile, even though we never performed it. When Michelle moved to Zimbabwe permanently, everything changed. What started as casual WhatsApp chats grew into late-night conversations and meaningful visits. At church, we became inseparable – exchanging smiles, whispers, and giggles during services. Our friendship became a safe haven, a space where we could simply be ourselves. A turning point came when Michelle asked to join me (Thembani) at Barbourfields Stadium to watch my beloved Highlanders play football. As we cheered from the stands, she shared how her father used to take her to Highlanders matches when she was a little girl. These Sunday outings quickly became a tradition – moments to bond over shared passions and create lasting memories. As our connection deepened, we began dating. One unforgettable day, we visited Isilwane Nature Reserve but ended up lost in the woods. The adventure led us to Hillside Dams instead, where the serene beauty of nature surrounded us. It was there that we realised something undeniable – this was love. Of course, with this love came some uncertainty. What if things didn’t work out? Would we lose the friendship that had come to mean so much? But together, we decided to take a leap of faith, trusting in the strength of our bond. Over time, we learned that our foundation of friendship made our love resilient, and able to weather any challenges. We’re excited to begin this next chapter as husband and wife. We would love for you to join us as we celebrate the beginning of forever.
