Our story began in 5th grade when we first met on our PE basketball team. Shane was a mop-headed boy in plaid cargo shorts and I was the new girl in school. Fast forward to 7th grade and we became best friends. We were inseparable! Meeting up in between classes, hanging out every weekend, and riding the bus home from school together. In high school we went our separate ways, but stayed in touch from time to time. During our sophomore year at Texas A&M we found out that we lived only a few houses away from each other. One random night, Shane texted me and said “do you wanna go for a walk?”. The rest is history! 5 years later and we have started building our life together. We moved into our apartment in March 2020, adopted our sweet little cat Tony, and decided it was finally time to take that next step!

This is my favorite part to talk about! I thought I was just going to Joe T Garcia’s to enjoy dinner with my mom and sister, Kim. Joe T’s is a very special place to my family because it was Dad’s favorite. We showed up to the restaurant and sat at our table, when Shane surprisingly walked up behind me! We joke that we both blacked out at this point, but next thing I knew Shane asked me to marry him and of course, I said yes! I turned around and was surprised by friends and family who were there to celebrate with us. It was easily one of the best nights of our life and we will never forget it!
