I’ve never been to a lesbian wedding before. What can I expect?
Love, joy, and a really great party.
The short answer? Pretty much everything you’d expect from any wedding—just with two brides! There will be a ceremony, good food, music, dancing, and lots of celebrating. The only difference is that we’re doing things in a way that feels true to us, which might mean a few traditions look a little different (or get swapped out entirely). Come ready to have fun, celebrate with us, and maybe cry a little (in a good way).
Can I bring my kids?
Yes! We have sent out family invites and your children are included. However, a wedding is a great excuse to call a babysitter ;)
Where can I stay?
Great question. We will have reserved a block at Hotel Arista and a block at Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Chicago Naperville/Aurora. More information is on our website's travel page!
What colors can I wear/not wear?
Please do not wear white*, everything else is fair game.
*We will have a bridal party member walking around with a supersoaker full of red wine if you dare ;)
Can I make song requests?
On your invitation form there will be a section to suggest songs. We will do our best to accommodate.
Can I bring a plus one?
Any invited guests will be indicated on your invitation. Thank you!
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be taking place in an outdoor garden. The reception will be held indoors.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, guests can head straight to the patio of the reception hall, where we will be serving finger foods and beverages during a cocktail hour.
What time should I arrive?
Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive half an hour to an hour before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time.
Where should guests park? Is parking free?
Mesón Sabika has a large parking lot that is free to use. You can also park overnight for the night of the wedding and share a rideshare back to the hotels/back home! We want to keep everyone safe.
When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
Thank you in advance for sending your RSVP before May 9th, 2026. We have not done paper RSVP cards so please be sure to RSVP right here on our website.
I still have questions. What is the best way to contact you?
The best way to contact the brides is via our wedding email address: madelyntherese99@gmail.com
Other great points of contact are the maids of honor: Cosette Nowik and Nora Quinlan
