Our story truly begins way back in 1998, the year we both were born. Our families had known each other from the race track for several years as our parents raced against each other. Amy and David had their first son Tommy, in March of 1998. That summer, while attending a race, Allie’s parents, Joe and Bonnie, had got talking about how they were due with their first child, a baby girl, in December. Amy, being the jokester that she is, told Joe – my son is going to marry your daughter some day! (Crazy, right?) Speed up the story to July 2012 at Oswego Speedway, Allie was 13 and finally old enough to go in the pits with her dad for the big event of the year, The Race of Champions. It was Tommy’s first year racing in a sport mod with both his mom and dad. The day was going great until a large wreck took Joe out of the late model race. And for those of you who know Joe, I don’t think you would be surprised when we say that everyone was expecting a big fight. Amy, knowing Joe, brought her son Tommy over to see this rumor of a fight go down. At that moment, Tommy and Allie met and it was love at first sight! Well, for one of them…can you guess who? The next year Allie and Tommy spent texting back and forth getting to know each other better as they lived 88 miles apart. September 13, 2013 came around and Tommy finally asked Allie to be his girlfriend. The rest is history!
So many of you have played such a special role in our story and making us who we are today. We cannot wait to celebrate our love with you all so soon!
