Our Story

HOW WE MET: Two Sides to Every Story

If you ask Erin: In 2021, I was ready to date, but never tried online dating. I did not think match.com or eharmony was for me as it seemed a little bit overwhelming since this was the first time I was trying on online dating app. I thought to myself, "Well farmers are hard-working men and nice, so how about farmersonly.com." So, I made best the decision of my life and signed up on farmersonly. I am not going to lie there were some interesting characters on there and I was about to give up on the site, but came across Tommy.

Tommy came up that he "liked me" and I responded that I liked him back. Shortly after, I received a message from Tommy who sent me his number in case I wanted to talk. We spoke that whole night on the phone until he had to go to work the next morning. It was so easy to talk to him. I remember thinking that he seemed like such an amazing person and that he had a deep voice lol.

However, I was disappointed that we may not be able to pursue anything as he told me he lived in Juneau, WI. At that time, I was living in Fort Atkinson. I told him that was a pretty long distance...his response, "Umm you know we are about 30 minutes away from each other?" I am not sure where I thought Juneau was, but I figured it was hours away since I had never heard of it before!

Our first date was not planned....we were talking on the phone and just decided that we wanted to meet each other that night. So he came over to my place (I made sure to give my mom all of his info, just in case-I mean I watch Dateline!). We met and hit it off! He brought me flowers a couple days later and spent time together either at my place or his...and he showed me the farm, where I met Joe and Andy!

Fast forward....my birthday in June 2023, he proposed and of course, I said, "YES!"

If you ask Tommy: Erin and I met online. After many days of talking to each other on the phone, I finally met the girl I'm going to marry. We met shortly before planting season started, so on that note, time gets really short. So at this point, there is nothing else to do, but bring Erin to the farm. Erin walked in the shed and tried to start figuring out this farm thing. It went from talking to cows, to sitting in tractors. She even found what she called "fruity pebbles" (seed corn and soybeans). This was also the night she met my two best friends, Andy and Joe. I figured if she can handle those two, she is absolutely a keeper. She kept coming back, soon it was lunches to the field and late nights waiting for me. From little things like that to taking care of my mom while she was sick and treating my family as if she had been around forever and when you add all those things together, with the love and support that Erin hands out, it is the reason you are responding to a wedding invite.
