As modern love stories often begin, this one too started with a dating app; specifically with a comment on a hiking photograph. Some messages later, Thy & Marcos soon agreed to go on a date together at Easy Tiger on April 3rd, 2024. The evening was pleasant, the bread was good, and they were getting to know each other. By the end of the night, they were ready to see each other again. Marcos asked if he could message Thy regularly to get to know her more between now and the next date, and she agreed.

Soon they were messaging everyday in between their weekly dates. Their weekly dates turned into two dates a week. Their two dates a week became two dates a week minimum, and their daily texting became nightly phone calls. Before they knew it, they had fallen deeply in love with each other and didn’t want to imagine life without the other.

Both of them ever cautious and wanting to be prepared, signed up for a pre-engagement course that took them on a tour of different topics that allowed them to imagine more practically what married life might be like together. Halfway through it they were already ring shopping and by the end of the course they were even more excited to get married! When the ring came in on April 16th, 2025, Marcos picked it up during his lunch break at work. This very same day happened to be when Thy & Marcos would go to a cooking class that evening to celebrate their 1-year dating anniversary. After their cooking class they were chatting at Thy’s apartment. Before he left for the night, Marcos dropped to one knee and asked Thy, “Will you marry me?” “Of course!” she replied.

They are excited to celebrate with everyone the beginning of this new chapter in their lives!
