Twelve years ago, two lives intersected in the most serendipitous way. Tibeb was living in Vancouver, attending Simon Fraser University to complete her undergraduate degree. Tunde was in Vancouver helping his sister move in for her own studies at SFU.

After touring the campus with his sister, Tunde ran into an old high school friend. That chance encounter led to an invitation to hang out later that day — a casual plan that would change the course of both their lives.

When Tunde arrived at the meeting spot, he met Tibeb. From that moment, there was an instant connection, one that neither of them could ignore. What began as a simple meeting soon evolved into a strong friendship, which gradually blossomed into something much deeper.

For the next five years, their relationship was shaped by distance, with both living in different cities. Despite the miles between them, their bond only grew stronger, built on trust, communication, and shared dreams. Eventually, Tibeb moved to Toronto, bringing them closer than ever before.

Since then, their life together has been filled with laughter, love, and adventure. Whether traveling the world or enjoying quiet moments at home, they found that every day together was better than the last.

During a trip to Sicily, overlooking the breathtaking Mediterranean Sea from a beautiful rotunda, Tunde proposed — and the couple’s journey took another unforgettable step forward. The moment was perfect, a promise made in the midst of beauty, love, and happiness.

Now, as they prepare to marry, they are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives, surrounded by the friends and family who have been there through it all.
