Our story actually begins with an answer to a ten year old girl's prayers. I grew up at Sunnyside Baptist Church, and though always a small church there were always plenty of children my age who also attended. I remember Easter egg hunts, Sunday School, Children's Church, VBS, always had plenty of friends very close to my age. However, when I was ten, the church split up and suddenly I was the only child anywhere near my age! The older generations were wonderful to me and my siblings, still, I was very lonely. I was a farm girl and a tomboy, and now there was no one to play after church games with.

So I started praying for new kids my age to start coming to church. Within a year or two, God answered those prayers with 2 boys my age! Unfortunately, I found it hard to relate to them, it seemed like the only thing they enjoyed doing or talking about was video games! I knew absolutely nothing about video games. So I got real specific with those prayers! God please send someone our age that all three of us can enjoy being friends with! Soon enough we were joined by this energetic, mischievous boy who straddled both sides of our fence! He played video games and basket ball! Of course it didn't hurt that he was cute too!

It took us many years of friendship and growth, but eventually we realized God answered three prayers the day He sent Chris through the doors of Sunnyside: The need for childhood companionship, it led to Chris's salvation in Christ, and it was the day we met our soul mates! It took over two decades but we finally got His message and thank Him for the strong bond of friendship that morphed into true love.
