After both being super hesitant to join online dating, these two lucked out when Tiffany found Matt's Instagram from a dating app and sent him a message. Immediately, they found so many commonalities - worship, videography, missions trips - and they learned that there's a character limit in Instagram DMs. :)

After texting all week long, they moved up their first date because they couldn't wait to meet each other in person. Both were extremely nervous as they made their way to meet at Temple Coffee Roasters in Davis. After a couple hours of sitting outside the coffee shop, the conversation was going great. So much so, that they decided to continue their date on for dinner at Burgers and Brew. They continued to talk honestly about who they were and what they wanted; they laid everything out on the table, including the baggage. Before they knew it, the place was closing up for the night, which forced them to end their 6 hour first date.

After Tiffany spent New Years Eve with Matt's family, drinking whiskey and throwing darts with the boys, Matt started to know he wanted more. And after getting to see Matt with his family, Tiffany knew he was so much of what she was looking for. On January 1, Matt opened up to Tiffany about some more of his past and trials he's been through and Tiffany knew all she wanted was to be with him through more of them. After tears shed together, Matt officially asked Tiffany to be his girlfriend and of course she said yes! :)

The first few months of their relationship included lots of home cooked meals together, hikes on the weekends, watching each other's favorite tv shows / movies, shooting hoops together, playing board games and meeting Matt's family, it was time to take the next big step. Matt and Tiffany planned a trip to Texas for Matt to finally meet Tiffany's family. They took their first trip together and loved every second of it. Tiffany's family loved Matt and Matt fit right in. They loved vacationing together, they loved spending time with Tiffany's family, they started to understand even more that this is what they had been long waiting for.

Matt and Tiffany knew how they felt about each other but both really wanted to do this relationship right. Saying those 3 important words to each other held a lot of weight because they both wanted to truly mean it, in every sense of the word. One night of getting into one of their deep conversations, Tiffany said something that meant so much to Matt and he just couldn't hold it back anymore. He looked her in the eye and said, "I love you." It took Tiffany a moment to even realize what Matt said. She second guessed that she heard it correctly, but she knew that's what he said and she didn't want anything else but to say it back, "I love you too." From that day, everything was different for them.

There was never really a set moment when these two decided they wanted to marry each other, but it was something they both knew deep down for a while. They decided to check out a vineyard that did weddings just to see it, just to look, get any idea of what was out there. They went to Heringer Estates and both fell in love with the location and with 2022 dates already filling up, they decided to book a date. No hesitation, they knew they wanted to marry each other and booked it even though they weren't engaged... yet.

Now yes, these two booked a venue before they got engaged, but that was because they were waiting for Matt to be able to ask Tiffany's dad in person. Tiffany's whole family came out to Davis and one morning, Matt took Tiffany's dad out for coffee at the place he took Tiffany on their first date. Matt asked Tiffany's dad for his blessing to marry his daughter, and her dad of course said yes.

On Saturday, September 3, Matt took Tiffany on a beautiful picnic in a very special place to him in Dixon. He had a table all decorated, flowers, balloons, the works, and put together an amazing charcuterie board for the two of them. As they were enjoying their lunch and reminiscing on the last 8 months, a very special time of day was coming. The first day Matt and Tiffany started dating, they started a tradition called "the daily question." They both have an alarm that goes off every day at 12:30pm that reminds them to ask each other a new question. By doing this, they got to know each other even better every day. On September 3, Matt changed his "daily question" alarm tone from his usual tone to their song, "Take the World" by Johnnyswim. As it started playing, Tiffany knew what was happening. Matt walked around the picnic table, got down on one knee, and his daily question for the day was, "Will you marry me?" Of course Tiffany said YES!

Matt and Tiffany have never been so excited for a date than this one. These two have been through so many trials in their personal lives, have gone through so many journeys in relationships, and it is completely by the hand of God that they ended up together. There is no other way to describe the blessings that this relationship has brought to both of their lives other than to give God the glory in His perfect timing. Matt and Tiffany can't wait to make this holy covenant before the Lord in marriage to one another with God at the center. They can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together, to see what God has in store for their future as partners. :)
