How It All Began

Who would have guessed that a Sunday brunch between Tiffany and her friend (now bridesmaid), Valerie, would result in Tiff toasting her future husband?!

As the ladies walked into Veronica's Bar (now Horseshoe Tavern) in Morristown, NJ, they had no clue that Lindsey was there signing paperwork with the proprietor, Mike (husband to Linds' life-long friend and fellow Tewksburian, Abbey), to power the establishment with green energy. Already in his usual celebratory mode, Lindsey approached the ladies to spark-up a meaningful conversation. Many laughs later, Val had to leave for a massage appointment...Much to her surprise, Val returned in a few hours to find Tiffany and Lindsey still talking up a storm!

Admittedly workaholics, six months passed before these two noticed (on social media of course!) that they both were attending concerts in Manhattan. It wasn't long before their "Direct Messages" became novel text-messages and they decided that a date was much overdue...

A Date Night to "Taco 'Bout"

At the time, Nurse Tiffany was working crazy "night shift" hours (and often full weekends) at the hospital, so when Lindsey called to ask her out, she counter-offered (in good Tiffany fashion) as a means to show-off her cooking skills and host a movie in a relaxing environment. Naturally, Lindsey couldn't resist homemade "Taco Tuesday"!

He brought her orchids and neither of them can recall the movie they rented, because they talked all night about their many shared interests -- faith, friends, career, adventure-travel, animals, creating art, philanthropy, family...and so much more!

"I'm not wearing those tight shorts!"

As the story goes, upon moving to Morristown, Lindsey completed the "Gran Fondo" (rated the most scenic of the cycling circuit throughout the USA: https://www.granfondoguide.com/Events/Index/243/garden-state-fondo). He then asked his friends if they wanted to join him on the "Tour de Hamptons" the following weekend...

One of the replies he received from his friend (FitzPatrick) is now the title of this story. ;)

Lindsey remembered Tiffany saying, "Oh, I'm always up for an adventure!", but he had no idea if she could even ride a bike! Nevertheless, he asked her...

Tiffany immediately accepted Lindsey's invite, despite the fact that the closest to "road bike" she had ever ridden was clip-on cycling shoes in a Spin class! Thanks to Lindsey's pal, Kai, they immediately scored a place to crash in Montauk and Tiff found a (very) last-minute bike rental.

As if her cooking and zest-for-life wasn't enough, Lindsey could see that there was something special about Tiffany after she sweated-out 53.1 miles of the ride alongside him (err well, maybe behind him at times as Lindsey simultaneously live-streamed and pedaled the ride...even capturing Tiffany's three wipeouts...what a trooper)! Nearing the end, Tiffany grumbled her real goal was simply: "I want a burger!" Stepping-up their game, the two enjoyed a delicious lobster dinner by the ocean on what would conclude a successful challenge and an awesome first adventure-date!

Meet The Parents

Picture of Meet The Parents

Often times, we hear traditional stories of how newly dating couples meet their significant others' family...They go over for dinner and bring a nice bottle of wine...Well, stay tuned...this story is anything but traditional!

Knowing how they both love to get their hands dirty and help others, Tiffany invited Lindsey to a fundraiser for a local family in-need. Lindsey had no idea that Tiffany's family business was catering the event and planning to feed over 1000 people that night! Upon arrival, Lindsey was immediately thrown into the kitchen (picture a Henry Ford assembly line of food and workers) with a quick:

"Hi Lindsey, It's nice to meet you. I'm Teresa, Tiffany's mother. Here's an apron; you can help serve the penne vodka."

Yep, that was the couple's first of many shared philanthropic events ~ something they would later coin as a "Do Good Day". And thankfully, this meet-the-parents instance was as successful as the fundraiser itself!

As for Tiffany meeting Lindsey's parents...

How could Lindsey's folks not immediately love and respect a hospital nurse who also understands when to use "Chip" or "Lindsey" accordingly?!

Truth be told, Lindsey knew that Tiffany was what fly fisherman call "a keeper" well-before taking Tiff to meet all of his parents, however, witnessing their instant love and approval for Tiffany only made his heart sing greater for her to be by his side forever.

"Do Good Day (.org)"

Picture of "Do Good Day (.org)"

Lindsey and Tiffany love events that allow them to help people and support worthy causes so much that they purchased DoGoodDay.org and at the right time and measure, they plan to post all of their stories on how they have found joy in sharing love and talents by "Dedicating one full day to a noble good deed each month."

The couple's mutual love, respect and appreciation has sincerely grown fonder with each joint "Do Good Day" (e.g.: volunteering at church, building houses with Habitat for Humanity, donating to worth causes online, teaching student nurses and programmers/entrepreneurs, referring jobs, helping family, and much more).

Being that the couple is VERY competitive, they had to quickly assign themselves roles ~ For example:

There is no stopping Tiffany when she commits to whatever tools are needed to commence work.

And contrary to popular belief, Lindsey actually does get his hands dirty amongst all of his jokes and vlogging to document do-good-day progress!

"Nagybomb" Part Deux!

Picture of "Nagybomb" Part Deux!

If you know each of these two than you know how much they both love a good adventure!

One of Lindsey's most repeated excursions has been skiing the largest mountain on the North American continent: Whistler Backcomb annually with friends (Scott, Travis, etc.). It was there that he earned the name "Nagybomb" while downing the back bowl as fast as he could (Pre-iPhone video era: https://youtu.be/YrxPXRIfjC4)...That said, by 2016, it had been a while since he had been in good powder...

One day, Lindsey's ol' friend Christian called encouraging him to "get back out on the slopes again, brother!" At first, Lindsey declined blaming his startup workload. God Bless Tiffany for overhearing their conversation and making Lindsey call Christian back to say that "THEY were IN"! ~ She was dying to learn to ski!

That first lesson for Tiffany has since turned into countless memories for the couple with fellow snowbirds throughout the country!

"...A Great Team!"

Picture of "...A Great Team!"

These days, the local news may cover NAGY VENTURES' hilltop spot; overlooking the race track at The Far Hills Race Meeting, because of our lovely stuffed fox (i.e.: "Jaíme Foxx"), but did you know, it was Lindsey's coordination of the first-ever jet-team flyover that made Hilltop Spot #108 a special tradition back in 2009. (Video of flyover during the opening ceremonies, along with friends Mike, Kerry and Jared: https://youtu.be/yIRCujV3Ih0 ).

Enter 2016, the couple's friend, Tom, kindly brought Tiffany into the limelight while at The Races, acknowledging her for all of her upgrades to the spot (e.g.: a custom betting board, superb catering, etc.). Tom declared a toast that concluded with:

"To the couple who truly make a great team!"

Lindsey has loved throwing philanthropic/business networking parties since his days at boarding school, but it was in this moment, at The Races in 2016, that the couple glanced over at each other and truly realized all that they could accomplish when they put their minds together. (Most friends probably would have been able to guess "Tiffany was the one" when Lindsey officially recognized her as "Co-Host of Hilltop Spot 108". And to that we now say, "The Future Mrs. NAGY VENTURES" indeed!)

Each year, on the 3rd Saturday of October, The Far Hills Race Meeting is held in Far Hills, NJ, running The National Steeplechase Championships - a horse race that attracts over 40,000 attendees where proceeds support Cancer Research and Treatment. This event means a lot to the couple per Tiffany's work as a nurse and also to Lindsey's immediate and extended family - who have battled cancer for many years.

Linds and Tiff have introduced many corporate sponsors to the event in an effort to help finance the associated hospitals. The couple intentionally promotes "The Hunt" (as the event is also nicknamed) as the single best opportunity of the year to catch-up with friends, family and clients over a many-a-fun bet, delicious food and drink (and a stogie or two with Lindsey!) If you want to hangout with this couple doing something they really love, make sure to make it to Hilltop Spot 108 at The Races in 2023!!

THANK YOU to everyone who comes out to spend this special day with us to support those who contribute to conquering this illness! We look forward to hosting you, on the 3rd Saturday of October, every year at "NAGY VENTURES' Spot: Hilltop #108"!

"OREO": The Pandemic Cure!

Picture of "OREO": The Pandemic Cure!

It is no secret that these two love animals; in fact, they expect the future "Casa Nagy" to be a zoo!

When 2020 introduced a global pandemic, Linds and Tiff found themselves moving into "Hospital Housing" together so that Tiffany could be (very) close to work. An arduous time, Lindsey saw how vital Tiffany is to her job and to her many patients who rely on her care each and every day. As if Lindsey wasn't "furry" enough to come home to, it also became clear that Tiff was increasingly desiring of a pet to share the couple's new home and love.

One day (and, if you know Tiffany, you know that this instance is in no way "coincidental"!), Tiff spotted a black and white "tuxedo" kitten in a window for adoption at a local animal rescue center and noted of his name ..."OREO!" She immediately shared OREO's "online adoption bio" with Lindsey which they laughed about..."Who doesn't love a good Oreo cookie"!? Tiff went home and used her charm on Linds and next thing you know, Lindsey made the leap and brought the best little "puppy" (believe it or not, they taught this cat to retrieve like a dog!) back to their humble abode.

OREO has since been on trips to Nashville (please note: Virgin Hotels are dog/cat-friendly! www.virginhotels.com), to their parents' homes, as well as, to various beach houses "Down The Shore" in NJ.

Now 3 years old, little OREO has many toys, many photos, and multiple names (especially if you ask Tiff): "GQ Cat", "Stinker", "Boy Boy", "Naa Nas" and "Noo Noos"!

Heaven on Earth

On their sixth year of dating, Tiff and Linds plan a much overdue trip to Costa Rica...

They stayed for nine days driving their SUV all over the gorgeous foreign country alongside monkeys, macaws, sloths and lizards. Every single day was a new adventure packed with lots of activities (e.g.: zip-lining, wading in thermal rivers, climbing volcanoes, a forestall night-walk during a monsoon, feeding toucans breakfast and alligators lunch, 500 steps down to a waterfall and back, rainforest, a special Valentine's Day dinner, beach hikes...you get the picture)...

They managed to book an incredible bungalow in Manuel Antonio rated the "#3 Hotel in The World"; complete with a gated entrance, personal concierge, private beach, and views that take your breath away (Tulemar.com).

On the 2nd-to-last-day of their trip (after a full day of exploring the rainforest) Lindsey asked Tiffany if she wanted to go down to their private beach to watch the sunset. Naturally, she replied: "Absolutely!" They quickly put on their bathing suits and trekked down the cliffs. When they got to the sand, the many hermit crabs scurried away as Tiffany jumped in the water immediately, but Lindsey (usually the water-nut!) stayed behind rather suspiciously. As Tiffany came back up the beach, Lindsey said, "Hey Swee~T, I've taken at least 5,000 photos of you this vacation, why don't you take one of me?!" At that question, Tiffany turned around with her iPhone to face Lindsey...who was already down on one knee! Tiffany was in shock, she couldn't believe this moment was finally happening. All she kept saying was "WHAT?!" over and over again in surprise while bawling with happiness. Lindsey asked Tiffany if she would marry him...and the reason you're reading this today is because of her enthusiastic reply:

"Of course I will!"

At the center...

Picture of At the center...

When it comes to education, Lindsey and Tiffany are a very curious couple -- they both love to learn and pay-it-forward in their "free time." They also share a great respect for tradition.

If you ask them to explain their philosophy for living, working and giving as they do, they can refer you to a lifelong list of resources that have helped them along their journey. For example, throughout their relationship, they have both received tremendous insight from experiencing the Landmark Curriculum (LandmarkWorldwide.com) on top of their individual pursuits in traditional schooling and occupation.

When considering marriage, “Type-A” personalities, Lindsey and Tiffany, have expressed a sincere calling to ask the question:

“What is the recipe for a successful marriage?”

Many folks find it easy to acknowledge the fact that couples are getting married later-in-life (Hint: The soon-to-be-Nagy's are one of those couples!) yet sadly, how often do we, as a society, reflect on why the rate of divorce is still increasing? These are factors of marriage that Lindsey and Tiffany have been considering deeply, because they believe holy matrimony is eternal and they cannot wait to bring children into the world!

One of the books/workbooks that has helped Tiff and Linds to better understand this subject is Dr. Emerson Eggerichs’ “Love and Respect.” (LoveAndRespect.com)

While the aforementioned question (“What is the recipe for a successful marriage?”) has been answered in a multitude of ways (via many people and examples since the time they first started inquiring) one clear conclusion for this couple's intent to marry is the following:

At the center of their life and relationship is the faith that they practice religiously. As Christians, Tiffany and Lindsey believe that marriage is a Sacrament ~ that marriage is the unity of man, woman, and God.

As you are reading this, Lindsey and Tiffany are actively participating in “Pre-Cana” (a Catholic marriage preparation course: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-Cana).

Dear Family and Friends,

THANK YOU for your love and support ~ Please keep our engagement in your prayers.

We cannot wait to celebrate our upcoming nuptials with you!

Love,

The Bride and Groom
